Finnish symphonic folk metallers Kivimetsän Druidi will be releasing their debut album entitled "Shadowheart" [cover] in October 2008. The band describes the album as having "an unmistakable sound that is heavy, drivingly fast, but due to its epic atmosphere, and melancholic, highly catchy overtones marks a stunning amalgamation of Celtic folklore and vast extreme metal influences." The lyrics of the album are in both Finnish and English.

"Shadowheart" release dates:

15.10.2008 Finland.
17.10.2008 Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, Italy.
21.10.2008 Spain, Portugal.
22.10.2008 Sweden, Hungary.

A new track from the upcoming album entitled "Verivala" is available for streaming on their MySpace page.

Have to check that one out too. Their demo material is pretty swell.

It sounds horrible. Believe me.

Well sounds pretty good, a pleasant suprise. I am curious about their debut!

I'm very curious. I have their EP and a demo, and... these weren't very good but promising they can develop.

LOOOOOOOOL the cover is HILARIOUS.
NeoSe7en - 26.08.2008 at 00:46
Not bad. Sounds like Turisas with a female vocalist. Good melodies but they definitely need more of the heavy vocals.

It sounds horrible. Believe me.

I agree, the album was simply horrible. It was like any of the countless other "fantasy" folk/power metal bands lacking catchiness or anything distinctive. Well, that's not entirely true. They have a distinctive side, which is the horrible off-key female howling that makes you want to punch babies.

Oh yeah and I also lol'd at the cover art. Looks like some questionable fashion show.
