I´m truly sorry for what is happening to rhapsody, but what concerns me more is the fact nobody seems to like rhapsody anymore! I mean, how can anyone not like rhapsody??? it´ poetry´s theroy itself!!!

why only death and doom metal is accepted nowaday??? are people interested in superfluous music only??? no deeper analisis than how heavy and badass things are??

You speak some truth. Music is art and Rhapsody paints canvases and are truly only appreciated by those who take the time to delve into the craftsmanship spent masterfully capturing each detail. On the other hand, death metal bands can be compared to a sketch artist; it's light, easy, fun, and doesn't require a lot from the listener.
I like Rhapsody and I believe that it does not matter which country they come from as some have commented, only the talent and heart for their music.

thank god im not the only one that thought that album was awful. i think i only got through the first 2 tracks without getting nauseous.

Are you people fucking serious? I highly doubt that this is a case of De Maio hating Rhapsody (of fire) and going after them with all of his legal might for no reason. I should imagine it's something to do with contract breaching or somesuch...

Yeah, that's probably what's really going on. And if it is, then Rhapsody are bitches for posting such a statement and getting their fans all angry about DeMaio.

Most metal fans have huge problems with grasping the concept that music is business too... of course it's not the same business as banking for example, but the guys in the music industry need money too, of course music should come from the heart and all that crap, but at the end of the day ideologies don't pay bills...

i'm sure that rhapsody breached their contract in some way or another, didn't want to tour for manowar anymore even though they signed the contract, or they signed to do something for their album (write their songs in a particular way, whatever, how should i know) and didn't do that, or perhaps they owe MCM money that they lent to produce their album

sure, de maio might be a bitch for saying pathetic stuff about his metalness and saving bands from the perils of greedy labels and then having legal business with rhapsody, but everyone has to do his job to earn money, even in the metal industry
and rhapsody are at least as big bitches as de maio is, breach of contract is a crime

It is disgusting because it all is no doubt about money (and I don't care who is right and who is wrong, though I symphatize Rhapsody because I like their attitude and music), and it is funny because it looks like an epic holy war between a cruel bloody King who wants to make a sort of hail and kill and holy warriors who are protecting their beloved Enchanted Lands

Ok, I'm from Auburn NY, I know one of the members of Manowar personally, I have two friends that have worked with the band for years, one of which did so during the time Rhapsody was recording in their studio and another close friend of mine when to high school with Joey Demaio. Basically, Joey is an asshole. I can say it from experience unlike others who simply assume. But, for the most part, he's an asshole in a funny way. But he IS extremely arrogant. Upon talking with one of the band members around the time they were touring with Rhapsody, I made the mistake of saying that their music was sounding like it was being influenced by Rhapsody. He got pissed, and told me he was sick of people saying that.

Now, I'm not saying that I know for sure what is going on, but my educated guess would be that Joey wasn't too keen on this little Italian band being thought of as something the all mighty Manowar, masters of all that is metal, would want to emulate. If I know him, I would say he's screwing with them to show them who is boss. Thats just the kind of guy he is.

To be honest, I love both bands and have for years. But that being said, the whole issue leaves a bad taste for me and any way you look at it Joey is the one who is pulling all the strings. He had nothing but good things to say about Rhapsody when they were recording Symphony of the Enchanted Lands II but once people started saying that Manowar was emulating them his tune changed real quick.

We're all gonna have to just sit around and wait to find out the whole story, but from where I'm sitting, it looks pretty clear what's happening.
