Deadlock - Part Ways With Bassist, Replacement Announced

Original news, posted on 12.12.2008

German metallers Deadlock posted the following statement on their myspace page:

"We're not happy to announce, that we parted ways with Tom after more than 7 common years. Due to some musical and personal differences we agreed with him that it's better to make a cut.
There's no shittalking whatsoever, no bad mood or angry feelings. We just decided that Deadlock should go on with a new bass player.

We thank Tom for all the amazing years, the great time, his friendship and all our happy experiences together!
All future shows will be played with session musicians until we find a new member for that part. More news on our search for the new DEADLOCK family member will be posted soon!"

UPDATE (thanks to Azrael)

Deadlock have announced the following:

"We just got overwhelmed with inquiries for the Deadlock bass job and we want to thank everyone who was interested in becoming this part of our machine! You guys and girls are great!

We're very pleased to announce an old friend, a talented musician, an eager beaver and one of the sexiest people around John Gahlert (ex-Fall Of Serenity) for the Deadlock bass position! In the end we let our hearts speak and we chose John for his patience, his energy, his visions and his grace! We could not have done it better and we're sure to reinvent and advance our musical creation to the next level.

From now on we are back with full effect and we are looking forward to see you girls and boys at one of our next shows around this planet! Please welcome John with high passion!"

I'm glad they found a bassist for themselves. I hope he does well with them.

Now they only need five other members to leave and they might be worth listening to.

But really, to be honest.. I don't even know if I like this band or not... it's weird. It's like.. they suck, they are nothing special.. yet they are annoyingly catchy. I dunno. It's kinda like listening to the "Filet Fish" song....

Sabine can't sing and should have kept to just playing keys. They're even failing at being the next Lacuna Coil rip-off.

I'm just back from a Deadlock gig and can't confirm any of your findings in this thread. Within seconds after starting their set the band converted a pathetic crowd of forty or fifty into one frenetic party. Sabine's piercing rock vocals may not be for everybody's taste - I can easily understand that - but she does hit every single note and her voice has enormous power. Together with that happy smile on her face there is little more you can look for in a female singer.
At least live the band puts out a compelling steamroller sound that in no way can be compared with Lacuna Coil's delicate garden rock. I've heard both bands play live. The Myspace tracks don't do Deadlock any justice.
