Sorry to bring up Hercules in the shout box, but I noticed most of the albums with cd versions are asking for 50 euro ($80 something) each. Who's paying that much for an album?
Alright, first question you might have is "what does he mean by 'Multi-Talented'?" well its simple, just vocalists who can both growl and do clean vocals, Mikael Akerfeldt being a great example of this. I feel having someone who can do both really adds a lot of depth to the music, and variety. My personal favorite is Warlord from Turisas, he showed his range best in the newest album, his growls got far more intense and his clean singing appeared to be more confident as well as being well placed in the music. So who are some of your favs?
abbath doom occulta from immortal... his drumming skill is good!!
Uhmmm...If you'll read the first post, you'll notice I was referring to vocalists who have the capability to sing in both harsh and clean/melodic vocals. Not vocalists who happen to play an instrument.

Russ Anderson of Forbidden has a pretty amazing voice. He combines (and combines well) shrieks with some nice progish clean singing and he's got quite a range. Check out the songs Twisted Into Form or Chalice of Blood.

Mikael Stanne
Chuck Schuldiner (What a performance on The Sound Of Perserverance)
Isahn
Phil Anselmo
and definitly Mike Patton
Uh Also Leilindel of Unexpect
and Jari Maempa of course.

Mikael Akerfeldt
Warrel Dane (huuuuge range)
Garm
Ihsahn
Phil Anselmo
Devin Townsend (seriously, you would have thought more people would have said him)
Damn, I thought you meant multi-talented (as in playing multiple instruments and such), if that were the case I would have said Daniel Gildenlöw from Pain of Salvation, however for the sake of this discussion, I would vote for either Tomi Joutsen or Mikael Akerfeldt, both have very elegant clean vocals and brutal death growls.

Ordinary men hate solitude. But the Master makes use of it, embracing his aloneness, realizing he is one with the whole universe (Lao Tzu).
The first two don't growl in the typical sense of the word, because they are, after all, frontmen of alt/nu metal bands
Thanks god! Finally someone agree with me: Jonathan Davis voice is awesome. IMO the song "Justin" from their 1998 album "Follow the Leader" is the one where he better sings.

Totally agree, I love the way he sings ! Forbidden is one great thrash metal band love em'.
Mikael Akerfeldt
Björn Strid(I'm surprised nobody has mentioned him)
Devin Townsend definitely on top.
Phil Labonte
I think even Corey Taylor deserves a mention.
That's all I can remember from the top of my head.
But Björn Strid is my absolute favorite of the versatile vocalists. Just so many tricks in his bag. Very playful with his voice and on Soilwork's latest album he's managed to pull off some nearly impossible vocals like on Spectrum of Eternity and Tongue. Great live performer too.
In addition Opeth's Akerfeldt and Stanne from Dark Tranquility are very good too.
And Alissa White-Gluz, specially on The Agonist third album - really impressive stuff.
