I have burnt copies of Horror of Zombies by Impetigo and Horrorfied by Repulsion and think they are classic death metal albums. If they get a chance Metal storm should add them on the site. What are your opinions on these bands?

Thanks for the tip. I have a friend who owns (either digitally or on CDs) pretty much anything lol. I'll check with him, and if he's clueless, I'll desperately search around. There's a really cool CD store in San Francisco which has lots of metal CDs, especially Thrash, Death, and Black metal, so I'll go check there

Repulsion are not death metal, they're grindcore pioneers. Horrified is simply an essential purchase. If you like what you hear, check out the blatant worship that is Cretin...

Absa - friggin lutely dude. If anyone loves grind, then this is one of the A, B and C's of grindcore. This band influenced Napalm Death, Carcass, Autopsy, Nihilist, Dismember etc and were one of the first to do blasts along side D.R.I., S.O.B. and Napalm themselves. That Cretin - Freakery is a classic rip off. Well reccomended.

Impetigo - Ultimo Mondo Cannibale is pretty good. But not as classic as Repulsion

Both great bands, what would the world of gore themed dm and grind bands be like without em?
Horror of the zombies is wicked... "to know death, you have to fuck life in the gallbladder" thinks thats how that line goes. Yeh its wicked stuff

I like both of these bands, but Repulsion more so. They pretty much, along with Napalm Death and Carcass, invented grind and goregrind. I've heard nearly every song from Horrified, but haven't bothered to pick up the album yet. It's nearly top on my to-buy list.

Repulsion are great, and they are pioneers of grindcore, as somebody mentioned above, not death.... Horryfied is an absolute classic, being on the same level as Scum, World Downfall, etc.

I wasn't really familiar with Grind when I made the thread,so I feel stupid Anyway I would say Impetigo is more of a death/grind,now that I am more familiar it.

In fact, that doesn't matter. There is good music and bad music, but nothing like good/bad styles (maybe except shits like the emo)

Repulsion is my fav. grindcore band with terrorizer, and impetigo is criminally overlooked and underrated. The influence they had on goregrind and grindcore is immense.

Try to get a hold of the song "Boneyard" from Impetigo, I 've got it on a 7". Those lyrics and that refrein...that's cult!
Other good stuff: all the rest.
Repulsion was very good but...they've got one super album and I don't know anyone who saw them live so there's not much to say about the band.

I like Repulsion on CD, but when I saw them in concert last summer (Hellfest) they were really disappointing, very bad live performance. Never heard of Impetigo.

They blew acts like Pestilence away. Easily.

Horrified by Repulsion is easily one of the top three best grindcore albums ever. Period. Impetigo are pretty good too and put on one hell of a live show.

Impetigo is truly CRIMINALLY underrated band!!! Of course, the fact that their recordings are damn hard to get adds to it. One of the first heavy metal bands that used samples extensively as intros for their songs.

USA's Razorback Records re-released Horror Of The Zombies and Ultimo Mondo Cannibale few years ago, with Stevo's original artwork. I managed to get Horror of the zombies in my hands back then - unfortunately Ultimo... is out of print again. While writing this, looks like Horror... is stilla vailable, at least in some quantity. If you guys ever get your hands onto their albums, get them, don't hesitate! Impetigo is a must for everyone interested in and digging old skool extreme metal.

That said, I can't also stress enough how important band Repulsion is to extreme metal. When comparing other bands of it's time, nothing sounded that brutal and abrasive. Nothing. Arguably there might have been "better" bands out there, but the sheer assault of them leaves the competition out cold.

Totally agreed. Impetigo are really underrated and fun to listen to. They never seemed like they took themselves seriously and they're even better if you enjoy horror/gore/exploitation films. Music's raw, and they're far better than Mortician.

And don't forget the crucial thing about Repulsion: them being the first grindcore band.
