Great band from Germany, they've released one album Turis Fratyr. It won best debut of 2005 in the Metal Storm awards. Let's hear some opinions....

I can only listen to a song a couple of times before im over it because of them. I mean they sound almost identical to Stephen Fiori's (cant remember spelling) out of Graveworm, moreso the same style, not pitch. So it does feel like anything new to me.

My favorite band from germany =) loved their new album Segas. I think it is an improvment since their first album =). aspecialy that last "Mana" instrumental masterpieace in the end.

In my opinion, Sagas was the best album of 2008, and is one of my alltime favorites if not THE favorite for me. Unbesiegt and Mana are absoultely incredible

For some reason I still cant come to grips with this album....I love "Turis Fratyr" but this new one just drags on a bit for my liking. Then again, the former also has its moments of "just get on with it!"

I just noticed at http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=66784 they claim that the japanese version of Turis Fratyr has a bonus track called Noble Viking Spirit, I've tried searching and found nothing, no sign of it at all. Anyone know anything about this?

10.04.2009 - 03:37 Written by Feng on 10.04.2009 at 00:50 If you compare the song lengths of the Japanese bonus track 気高きヴァイキング魂 and the digipak bonus track Shingo Murata, you'll notice that both are quite likely identical. I haven't found 100% proof, but every site I've looked up seemed to bring the two in some connection. Example: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2891894 mentions 気高きヴァイキング魂 (not Noble Viking Spirit for obvious reasons), Shingo Murata and the number 13 probably referring to the track number.

Is it me or do they use the riff from ZZ Top's La Grange in Snuffel of Sagas, hope I'm not going senile too.

04.08.2009 - 16:06 Written by Haddonfield on 28.07.2009 at 23:49 Nope, it's not only you. It's been a while since I've listened to Sagas, but there were several nods to other artists on that album. The only two I recall spontaneously though are ZZ Top in "Snüffel" and Die Apokalyptischen Reiter in "Verrat". Or at least "Verrat" sounds heavily inspired by DAR.

Wingthor's Hammer just played on my shuffle... i arose from my essay slumber (what generally happens when i do essays)... immediately power screaming and headbanging along with the catchy start... i feel intense, the music empowers me!!!!... theeeeeeeennnn comes 0:55 into the song where momentum of this power just........dies in the ASS!!! I mean WTF!!! How could they possibly ruin the fantastic start anymore. The guy is a poor growler who growls strictly on beats with no alteration. So alot of parts sound (beat wise) like: chug chug chug choo choo choo traaaaaaiiiiiiiinnn!!! in a growl voice haha. Ok ok... ill shutup now.
