Pestilence - Debut Album To Be Remastered

Pestilence is considered one of the most important icons of the technical metal scene. Known for mixing various influences, from thrash to jazz and fusion with classic death metal, the band became a legend a long time before their final split-up in 1993. Now, with the exclusive re-release of Pestilence's debut album "Malleus Malficarum", metal fans may once again witness the sheer genius of this truly unique formation?

"Malleus Malficarum" is definitely an album worth picking up by any metal enthusiast. It delivers a solid thrash/death metal assault and marks the beginning of Pestilence's artistic journey through a brutal world of damnation. If you're a true fan of technical death metal, be sure to include yourself in that voyage!

Not surprising that Metal Mind will be re-releasing this since they are currently re-releasing MOST of the oadrunner back catalogue.

That's great news. I've been wanting to buy that for some time now. I sure hope they don't mess with the original sound too much, it was perfect for this album. Remaster like on the Artillery-s "Through the Years" would be great (original sound left untouched basically).

So just 2000 copies in all or just for the digipack? I also love how they say "If you're a true fan of technical death metal, be sure to include yourself in that voyage!" yet I'd consider this album to be Thrash Metal, especially when compared when 'Consuming Impulse.' I guess you could put in the Death/Thrash area, but that's just me.

When it was released at the time everyone called it death metal. No mention of thrash whatsoever, just like POssessed was called death metal and also Thanatos.

We aren't at that time anymore though. I just found it funny.

Since it's a 24-bit remaster, EVERYTHING will sound much clearer and sharper than on the original. There's no point in hoping for anything else Even the volume is increased, without the unnecessary distortion.
