Ok, so normally one should not be able to create a new thread until they got 100 posts. So those people can do it here and introduce their band.

Please be kind enough to provide all the information about your band (name, genre, website, myspace, a bit of history, etc.)

I also invite you to fill an entry in the "Band suggestions", and vote/comment on those you want to see featured

Reborn (Ireland) - Heavy Metal

Just thought id give this abit of a mention here...

Last month, we travelled over to Lubeck, Germany to record our new EP, 'Hath Fury', at LSD Studios. It was Recorded/Mixed/Mastered by Lasse Lammert (Alestorm, Halcyon Way, etc).

It was a huge experience for us, had a great time over there and some craic was had! Lasse is a top producer and a very nice lad to work with. Id recommend him for anyone thinking about going abroad to record. Hes 100% focused on the band hes working with and wont get lazy and give up until he gets the best of you.

The EP is up for free download here:

http://reborn1.bandcamp.com/album/hath-fury-ep

Soon, we shall be getting hard copies done up for reviews and for any nice folks that wanna buy it when their locked at our gigs! Artwork was done by Tom Cunningham.

Some of Lasse's work can be found here - http://www.lsd-tonstudio.de/

Our band link - www.myspace.com/rebornbandrocks

Will have plenty of gigs and whatnot to follow!

Id love to hear from feedback on the EP!

Cheers,

Patrick.

Kilmara (Spain) - Heavy Metal

http://www.myspace.com/kilmara

http://www.kilmara.com/index.htm

Kilmara is a Heavy Metal band based in Barcelona, Spain. It was founded in 2003 and formally known as Jadde. With Christian Wolfgang Kohl (Wolf) joining the band KILMARA was born adding new ideas, new sounds and a new maturity to the band. Despite of Wolf being German initially the band continued to compose songs in Spanish. After some time Kilmara began to write in English as well and in 2004 the first demo tape "The Deceit" was released.
In 2007 a new bass player joined the band and Kilmara recorded its first studio album "Hunting Dreams". With view on the international music market the band makes the decision to write lyrics in English only. The debut album is quite successful and receives very good magazine and web reviews in Spain. An extended tour follows to present the album in over 40 gigs before the band takes a break to work on new material for the upcoming album. In 2009 Kilmara records its new CD in Slovakian Grapow Studios with Roland Grapow (Masterplan and Ex-Helloween) as producer. With a new powerful sound and carefully crafted songs Kilmara gets signed by the record label Maldito Records where the new album "Don't fear the wolf" gets released in May 2010.

Hamlet (Spain) - Alternative Metal (maybe sometimes as well can be considered Nu Metal or Hardcore Metal in some records, or Hard Rock in the first album)

http://www.myspace.com/hamletirracional

The greatness of a band can be proved by many different facts or details: a strong discography, the fact that it has survived all kind of trends without losing its own identity, a great live show, a sound that is as fresh now as it was back when they started? All these virtues could be applied to Hamlet's career, which soon will enter in its 20th anniversary. A great success, on its own, for any metal band. But above any of these, the greatness of a band is proved when it delivers on those moments when they have to. In that sense Hamlet could teach a few lessons.

Through their career, Hamlet have faced many of these moments (line-up changes, going through different labels, working with Colin Richardson?). The five piece from Madrid have overcome all of them using their talent and work ethic, but it's probably now where their find themselves facing their biggest challenge as they've just signed an international deal with Roadrunner Records to release their new album La Puta Y El Diablo (The Harlot And The Devil), ninth in their discography.

Carlos Soto Tribus

Without a doubt Carlos Soto proves that even with just one instrument and a little imagination this bassist is all it needs to rock, for an instrument that sometimes seems to be condemned to back up other musicians, Carlos Soto breaks out his double neck bass to the spotlight and makes no apologies for it . Tribal Behavior delivers a rocking bass instrumental full of dynamic bass lines, bass slapping, bass tapping, bass distorted harmonies, sound effects etc? it's all here, the perfect recipe for bass players and musicians who appreciate the art of shred. Carlos Soto Tribal Behavior goes beyond today's music trends.

Forever Storm / heavy metal
Serbia

Biography

Serbian heavy metal band Forever Storm was established in the end of 2006, but pretensions for its creation existed from 2003, when Milos Miletic (rhythm and solo guitar) and Stefan Kovacevic (rhythm and solo guitar, vocals) first met. After some time, Vladimir Nestorovic (bass guitar) joined the band, and this lineup recorded a demo tape called "The Sign of Thunder". Finally, the lineup was completed, and Vuk Stefanovic (drums) joined the band, so Forever Storm started practicing in the beginning of 2007. In the same year, band had played on some of the biggest festivals in Serbia, like Exit, Zajecarska Gitarijada, Rock On and Rock Village, and toured across the whole country. In the middle of the year 2008 band participated on the international contest in Crvenka and won the first prize which included the money for recoding the first album. The album was finally completed after long 13th moths in the studio (September 2007 - October 2008). It was released in the end of 2009 by One Records. The album cover artist is Bane Kerac, one of Serbia's best comic book artists (many of his works are well known in Europe and America). In the meanwhile Nikola Maric (keyboards) joined Forever Storm and now the band is promoting its first studio album "Soul Revolution" across Serbia. The band participated on the one of the world's biggest metal festivals - Wacken, and won the third place among 28 bands from all over the world, on the Metal Battle contest.

After several months of hard work, and coinciding with our 4th anniversary online, the spanish webzine Hall Of Metal have the pleasure of offering our readers and friends a special present: our first compilation, as a free download.

Under the title "Hall Of Metal Vol. 1" you will find a double CD playing up to nearly 160 minutes of length, including 32 Spanish bands (with lyrics in English) who altruistically gave us permission to use their songs freely, which now we offer you in two formats: mp3 and flac (lossless). Also included in the file you'll find a PDF document in which we included, besides every band's bio, info about all songs and links to the band's websites and contact details. Since we wanted to give this compilation an international character, all the info is in English.
Finally, you will also find the artwork made by our friend illustrator Daniel Alonso (http://www.danielalonso.es), known for his jobs for DARKSUN, SAUZE or DÖXA, among other bands.

If you want to download, visit: http://www.hallofmetal.com/ver_noticia.php?id=7030

Plz, remember: all these downloads are free and, due to the exclusively promotional purposes of this compilation, its sale is completely prohibited.

We are Phoenix & Dragon out of Mesa Az, there are no power metal bands in arizona i know of besides us...it sucks, and its taking us forever to find a singer that can do what we need.
We are a 5 piece set right now with 2 lead guitars, 6 string bassist, keyboards and drums..we do triple harmonies all the way to classical guitar breakdowns and acoustic sections, followed by keys and bass sections. you can check us out at www.myspace.com/phoenixanddragonmusic and we also have a bunch of videos on youtube, just type in our band name.

we are currently working on getting a solid demo done by the end of feb. and have also recently just got artwork done for our logo and backdrop as well as an album cover for when we finish writing it.

something unique that no one really knows about our band is that we are a complete concept. every album we are going to write is based on a single, extremely elaborate story that merges myth with factual history, its pretty cool.

HAYAGRIVA http://www.facebook.com/myhayagriva

Latest CD - Emperor Awaits:
Release date: 13.03.2011

" REVIEW FROM :"The Heavy Metal Saloon " url= http://baileysmmcreamy.blogspot.com/search/label/hayagriva
Saturday, 2 April 2011

Hayagriva: Emperor Awaits
80%.

Four years after the release of Red Heaven, Hayagriva spring back into action with a brand new logo, futuristic cover art and a reunion of their 1993 demo lineup for Emperor Awaits. Despite all this, they're still playing what they call Dark Shadow Metal - very fast-paced, massively melodic black metal with plenty of keyboards and emotion. The EP is a foreboding of an eventual full-length album, featuring four versions of the title song, an instrumental and a cover.

The main attraction is the only actual full-length original song here, for which the EP is named. 'Emperor Awaits' is a seven-minute flurry of charging double-kick drums, scorching vocal lines and the intricate buzzing tremolo-picked melodies Mantheravathee laced Red Heaven with. In terms of songwriting, the track's length and complexity surpasses any previous song by the band. There's a whole bunch of riffs flying at you, twinning symbiotically with the racing drums. The motif of the song is an emotional, leaping series of harmonized guitar licks during the chorus, augmented by orchestral synths. Slower moments involve twinkling keys, familiar serrated guitar workouts and even an uncharacteristic classically-inclined guitar solo. I honestly can't get enough of this song, it picks up right where the 2007 record left off and is kicking with both more emotion and more technical, virtuosic playing. If the full-length record later this year is consistently of this quality it's going to kick serious ass.

The production is fairly similiar, except that where the guitars became a little buried last time round, here guitars, drums and keyboards are mixed nicely, without abandoning the slightly rough-around-the-edges sound that helps to set this band apart from the squishy sounding mass-produced melodic black stuff coming from Europe.

'The Deep Breath Before the Plunge' is a highly atmospheric instrumental played off the keyboards with some computerized-sounding drum tattoos. It's a lot darker, almost industrial sounding, compared to the neo-oriental instrumentals on Red Heaven. 'Intoxicated' is an unusual move, 'Emperor Awaits' remixed with drum and bass beats, guitars occasionally bursting in through a wall of soggy distortion. Interesting to listen to, and the relaxing, ambient nature of this version goes some way to emphasize the improved compositional skills of the band. There are also instrumental and 'practice' (rehearsal I guess) versions of 'Emperor Awaits' at the end of the EP.

Outside of the title song, the best thing here is 'Syurga Di Hujung...', a cover of a local rock band from Ipoh. I like this firstly because it's the sort of thing that goes on in the Japanese scene, bands covering the songs by their mates in other bands. Secondly I am totally into the passionate interpretation of the guitar riffs, with what must have been a hard rock song given full Hayagriva treatment and turned into a blast beat-driven cooker of a melodic, blackened song - but with clean vocals provided by Venkhateswehra and Mantheravathee. The two guys don't sound too bad actually, the singing has the same kind of imperfect frankness of love songs by Gorgon. Combine that with the emotional riffing and this is my favourite cover so far this year.

I am seriously glad I bought Red Heaven on impulse when I got to Singapore - I totally dig this band's sound, and I wish more people outside of Southeast Asia would even have the chance to listen to them. Considering the cheap price of this disc (although don't ask me about international postage) it's a good way to get introduced to the band.
