Condemned is a band which has a vocalist and drummer from Cephalotripsy. They play mid-paced brutal death which has a number of slowdowns, although nothing too technical. Desecrate the Vile is their only release, which is about 24 minutes of pure brutal death metal enjoyment and 8 minutes of crickets chirping at the end. The songs blend in somewhat, such that there is no definite standout track, with the possible exception of Chapter of Defilement, which I believe has guest vocalists from Disgorge and Insidious Decrepancy. The vocals definitely stand out with this band, and sound like a mix between a whistle and a pig squeal. I personally enjoy the vocals and think them to be a relief from the typical run of the mill death metal vocals, but can't help but wonder if they are too brutal to most for the band to become well known.

Any other fans?

Condemned is more brutal than zombie porn; Angel Ochoa is a monster. They're supposed to come out with a new album this year too.

Yeah i just recently discovered these guys, they're good, i see potential, and yes they are immensely br00tal. The pig squeals are like you said, something different. I don't know if they'll become very well known with the style of dm that they're playing, but i like em' just how they are. if they put just a little more ehh .. 'spice' in their sound, i can see myself listening to Condemned quite often. these monsters are my weekly dose of pure brutality.

Have you gotten Desecrate the Vile? If not, judging from your previous posts that I've seen, I think you'll like it.

I downloaded it off Napster a few days ago, and i'm enjoying it quite a bit. Their sound is very muddy but i find it's perfect for what they're playing. on another note, the album is quite short, 20, 25 mins ?

They have a new song posted on their myspace, nothing to different. Though i noticed they lowered the vox so you can hear the guitars a little easier, the mix is probably better. Anyways give it a listen, the track is good.

Anyone heard the Mass Burial demo? It is good, but I was surprised to hear Angel Ochoa (or whoever was doing vocals as I have a hard time believing it is the same guy) have much more guttural vocals.

It is interesting and I think it has a couple of tracks that are not on the Desecrate the Vile album. You should give it a spin
