really simple question, which out of these do you prefer?

1. metalhead:

you all know this: band shirts, denim, black leather, metal, spikes, chains and of course the gloves of metal.. mostly not crackerjack clothes lmao.

2. gothic:

morbid, somber, mostly black stuff, jewelery, really long coats, huge black boots, generally what a vampire would dress like.

3. regular- regular, crackerjack clothes, the stuff most people would wear.

out of the list i choose regular as i don't wear my band shirts that often, and other than those i have no other accessory that links to metal music

i would have included more options but i know only very few people around here dress other than this. if it's not in those 3 categories, i put an "other" option but remember to still answer the question.

Poll

which?

regular

When I was living på jävla Mjölkkudden in Luleå, cool area, status, I hade a tiny room only, place for bad, board and nothing more.
There was chances get wash cloths even like 8 houses shared it, ever day basically
Now I live in fucking Porsön and one house, I need wait maybe 2-3 weeks before I can get a place to wash

I have working clouts, uniform when I am working in Luleå Kommun, when in Boden my own(hardly wash those), same work, boat buildings are close, but in kommun border, so sometimes I am on one and sometimes in another,

In Mjölkkudden I hade all shit in plastic bags, no place, now I have place, closset...

anybody can explain why new washed cloths most t shirts stinks weird? old clouths?
I re washed all what was in bags, what might eb reason, but few stinks again why? I put to wet, humid in the closet? od they are old?
WHY? in winte runless I don't sweat I have one t shirt like 2-3 weeks, un summer 2 days ---
I have no basically nothing to wear, just washed and they have weird smell? not all, but older ones
When I was living whit mother, like years ago, I had loundery room, all was hanging like 2-3 weeks in a wire

I cant do now, I need explanation why ?

ALWAYS a metal t-shirt. Usually a leather jacket (when not too cold)... On the other hand, regular jeans, chinos, whatever and usually some colorful, square-patterned shirt over my metal tee. So a combination of metal and regular, I suppose.

I don't really know how to classify myself in terms of fashion. On a normal day I generally go out wearing a hoodie, skinny jeans (they're very comfortable for me) a metal t-shirt and some converse shoes however on nights out I generally only keep the skinny jeans and dress a little more formal. Being partially middle eastern also dictates what I wear on some days.

Other I find the metal clothing to be of low quality, mostly done from cheap fabrics and fruit of the loom stuff. Besides, it is often too far from matching many occasions. So I took on making my own clothing and designs which I call stealth metal style For the ordinary person, they look like any other shirt, the metalhead would recognize them immediately. And I print/have them sawn on high quality shirts like Calvin Klein's (sorry Mr. Klein for improving your work). I like them and no one notices they're actually metal oriented, with one exeption.

Nowadays, I tend to go for a somewhat shabby, rustic take on classic menswear. Semi-casual button-up shirts (Oxfords, flannels etc.), wool cardigans or sweaters, sometimes sport jackets (in tweed, corduroy, linen, wool-cotton mix etc. and earthier colors), moleskin or cord trousers or jeans, and I like to wear a tie whenever it's reasonable with the outfit/occasion (can do it just fine with a cardigan and shirt). I think men are too afraid to use them nowadays, they're such a fun way to add some color. I got like 30 ties, I buy them 1? a piece whenever there's a sale at the local secondhand store. There's always one or two quality pieces there.

I had a bit of a style awakening a few years back, having dressed like a sloppy kid before. I have a LOT of clothes right now, coats and jackets especially. I like to buy secondhand so that gives a lot of leeway. I probably overdid it at first, now I've toned it down again. But I guess you need to go through an intense phase when you're discovering something new. It's also a good way to normalize it, so you no longer feel weird or over-dressed. It's funny, but becoming a father and graduating gave me, in my own mind, the kind of status or clout to wear shit I probably wouldn't have dared wear as an undergrad.

I guess typical metalhead? Idk, I wear band shirts most of the time, black jeans (sometimes other pants, though), and have long hair, but other than that, I have no piercings, no tattoos, don't wear studs, chains, leather, or anything else like that. So I guess the way I dress could also be considered pretty normal.

I voted typical metalhead. I'm crazy about Doc Martens and I own a number of vests (Leather, Cut-off Denim, Cut-Off Camo, a Cut-Off Grey button-up)........I have a (motorcycle) leather jacket, but it's too damn hot most of the time so I go with vests. I have a pair of fingerless leather gloves, Many rings for my fingers, A few Newsboy hats (though not really 'Metal'), Studded belts. Oh and I have a Baphomet necklace, but I can't always 'untuck the baphomet'.

If I'm not wearing band t-shirts, then I'll wear a nice button-up......The only time I don't wear Martens on my feet is if I'm only going down the road or on an extremely short outing.......Or if I really want to dress sophisticated, I may wear my black snake skin boots......but in that case, I wouldn't really be dressed 'metal'.

Why those trousers is called shorts?

https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61Fzl9zILqL._AC_UX522_.jpg

What is purpose of them how they help in summer heat? Uncorfotable clothing IMO, to me shorts are like Lemmy had, up from kneel
Like this, I still have such shorts
https://i.redd.it/a71i8rqy67541.jpg

can not stand anything in a summer what makes me warm, and sweat. I dont have even t shirt then to. Same I dont get how in more then 20 C people can have suits and those old clots from days when people work 6 days per week.

I have a few simple knots I do, four-in-hand mostly. I use a tie any chance I get, have over a dozen vintage ties from thrift stores. You don't need a suit, just a regular shirt and a cardigan is a great excuse for a tie.

At least the basic four-in-hand is quick to learn, after you figure it out for the first time. But it might still take a few tries to get the length right, since every tie is a little different.

But yeah, it's not a very common need these days, so you can go far without ever needing to wear one (depending on your social circle anyway - weddings and funerals may be inevitable). Which is precisely why I like to wear them, I guess, a bit of counter-culture.

Sucks that my current job is mostly working from home, and when I'm at the office (a medical library at a hospital), it's just doctors and nurses in their workwear and us few administrative/specialist side people in bland basic clothing. I don't get to dress up. Loved having the excuse when I worked at the government library.
