Zonaria - New Album Details, Cover Artwork & Song Online

The band announced the following post :

The new generation of Swedish metal rises! With influences ranging from Hypocrisy over Dimmu Borgir to Arch Enemy, Zonaria have forged a misanthropic mix of brutal riffs, melodic harmonies, maniacal drumming and ominous synth lines that is sure to please metal heads worldwide. Their stunning sophomore effort and Century Media debut "The Cancer Empire" will be released on the following dates:

Germany / Austria / Switzerland / Benelux / Italy: Friday, October 24, 2008.
UK / France/ Greece / Greece / Norway / Rest Of Europe: Monday, October 27, 2008.
Spain / Portugal: Tuesday, October 28, 2008.
Sweden / Finland / Hungary: Wednesday, October 29, 2008.

Simon Berglund (vocals/guitar) explains the meaning of the album title as follows:
"The Cancer Empire refers to a nation that infects the world around it by spreading lies and deceit in order to dominate. For us it has a realistic reflection on the world today."

The cover artwork by Par Olofsson (Winds Of Plague, Deeds Of Flesh, Psycroptic) was also based upon this concept and you can now view it in higher resolution here .

The track-listing of "The Cancer Empire" reads as follows:
1. Slaughter Is Passion (4:13)
2. Praise The Eradication (4:04)
3. Crowning King Cancer (5:44)
4. Contra Mundum (4:35)
5. Termination Process (3:31)
6. At War With The Inferior (3:21)
7. From The Abysmal Womb (5:25)
8. Damnation Dressed In Flesh (3:59)
9. Humanity Vs Sanity (4:14)
10. The Icon And The Faceless (5:54)
Total running time: 45:13

"The Cancer Empire" was produced by Fredrik Nordström (Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, At The Gates) at Studio Fredman and mastered by Peter In De Betou at Tailor Maid, as a first appetizer you can now listen to the track "Praise The Eradication" at the band's newly re-designed MySpace page .

Guitarist Emil Nyström is confident, that the band will gather new hordes of fans with "The Cancer Empire", he states:
"There is no one that can take the feeling away from us that we've done another great album. More dynamics and more varied than ever - we can't wait to play the new songs on the road really soon!"

To do exactly this, Zonaria join Polish death metal masters Vader on the North European leg of their 25th anniversary tour in October / November 2008, here are the exact dates:

well, it's a good thing their' a cliche of better bands rather than them being another cliche american modern "death metal" band. ya know the ones that all play the same exact song, every time, filled with shitty breakdowns and low-grade growling.

Sure - everything is relative. I don't like liver but I'd rather eat liver than shit

hmmm got hold of it and im pretty disappointed - they sort of got their own sound on the new album and it sure isnt as good as they used to be. Fair enough they sounded like Hypocrisy, but Id listen to any band who sounds like Hypocrisy any day! Now their just kinda...generic and not very distinctive - just sort of like all the other bands out there.

I can't understand why people think the band is cliché or generic. I think the is band very talanted and professional. Excuse my shitty grammar.
