I couldn't include all of the albums, but i hope you're happy with this.
In my opinion it's probably "Hammerheart" or "Blood On Ice", i will come back with an answer later.

For me, Hammerheart is the textbook definition of "viking metal". It's a masterpiece, and one of my top 25 albums ever recorded. EDIT: I think Blood Fire Death may have it beat as of now. I can't get over how much I'm love songs like A Fine Day To Die, the title track, Dies Irae, etc. \m/

I think this should be split into two threads, pre-viking and viking era. I went with Blood Fire Death because it is 1) My favorite. 2) Kinda a crossover album for the styles. Either way, it is really hard to choose a favorite
