Mago De Oz is certainly the most famous metal band coming from Spain. Well, "Gaia" demonstrates to us that this title is not usurped. Indeed, the new album of this Spanish heavy metal band is a big confirmation of their enormous potential.

If you don't know Mago De Oz, I must explain to you that this band is very special. They had the merit to have created their own style. In two words, Mago De Oz plays a beautiful heavy metal with in addition a lot of piano, keyboards and especially some parts of flute and violin. The result is very convincing and beautiful. In a lot of tracks, we got very original breaks of pure Celtic music.

Another very important point the singer who is particularly good and impressive used to sing in Spanish and yes this language is perfect for heavy metal !!!
All the tracks of Gaia are good with a great songwriting quality, this is not very technical but all the melodies are catchy and very positive. It's a real pleasure to listen this album again and again.

Let's talk about the production now, the sound is clean and pure, all the elements of the music are very audible, drums, guitars, flute, violin, piano etc... None is stronger than the others and the voice of Jose is particularly well granted to the others instruments. A very good job.
Besides seen the quality of the musicians you can be reassured there is no problem.

Gaia is a great album of heavy metal very original very attaching, this guys are good no doubt, if while writing this album the musicians of Mago De Oz wanted to drag us with them in a big journey, They succeeded!

If you want to travel through the oceans, if you want to follow all the guys of Mago De Oz in their epic story, no hesitations run as fast as you can to get this magical album! You will not regret it!

As always a bizarre cover art awesome as hell ... but I don't see this album as close to a masterpiece...
