It's hard to say which one of the disc is the best, this is a great viking/black metal band, all the discs have their own, "Soknardarl" is the first one with the pure essence of Valfar's music, "1184" is the first one with permanent members and gave us great songs, "Likferd" is a disc with more BM music, I know that "Valfar, ein windir" is a compilation but it has some demos, Stridmann, live versions and covers, maybe someone like it more than other one, but my favourite is "Arntor" just because is a maesterpiece, the perfect mixture between the Viking folk and BM, the riffs are amazing and Valfar show us how skillfull he could be...

when i first started listening to them i woulda said 1184, but since i played it to the point of nearly driving myself insane with it, i say Likferd.

Hard to choose one, between Arntor and 1184, and they are at the same place for me, both are great, but no way, I should vote for one, and that is 1184, because of their legendary track, Dance of Mortal Lust!

Same in here, that track is most well known as desire lustful provoking. Its also good song IMO with catchy guitar. But I like best in 1184 is Todewalzer, Heidra, Black New Age Destroy, Journey To The End. But best of best I would choose Todewalzer

I'm not that much into Windir, but the album I like the most is their last one, "Likferd". It contains some awesome tracks, such as "On The Mountain Of Goats", one of my favorite Windir tracks.

OK, musically Arntor is probably the best, by I just cant get enough of 1184! It has such a powerful atmosphere and it fits Windir's whole philosophy perfectly.

For me it's a choice between Likferd and 1184. I go for 1184 with the title song and Dance Of Mortal Lust.

I have listened only to Arntor and 1184 and IMO the first is slightly superior...but I need to listen to the others too

As much as I love 1184, im gonna vote for ''Soknardalr''... the first that ive heard, and the one who is present in my memory.
I can't help to notice that the 1184's songs seem always 1minute longer than necessary. Looks like the (amazing) songs end and they filler around for one more minute... without an apparent reason. Thats the main reason why I prefer Soknardalr.
