Naer Mataron is a black metal band from Greece who have been going strong since 1994. Some other well-known underground bands with which they are associated include Astarte, Gorgoroth, and Nocternity. Of their discography, my favorite album would have to be "River At Dash Scalding". Recently, they have recruited Dødheimsgard vocalist Victonik, and they have released a new album called "Praetorians". I've really taken a liking to this band, and I feel that you may like them too.

Asking about this band, IMO its be big crime for ''greek'' to dont know this band, but I dont know all, Iknow fiew somngs and its good, realy good band, lil diferent how scandinavian BM specely lyricaly, awesome band

I own their 2005 album, very solid. Seems they are very big on anti-christianty lyric.

I listened to it. The riffs were good, but the drumming was rather monotonous, in my opinion.

Yes, but the riffs are killer!! not just good!! The whole album captures the essence of hellenic black metal!!

I am listening to them, and their music for many years, without giving too much attention to their lyrics coz i knew about their nationalistic background. I wasn't really taking it serious. But this has gone too far. Τhe member of the band Kaiadas, is one of the high-level members of the fascistic neo-nazi party "Golden Dawn" that has been voted by 7% of the greek electors and Kaiadas himself got elected in the greek pariament. A very dangerous phenomenon that as it was expected took place at the last parliament elections. Its a shame for the corrupted and under-collapse greek society and government that tolerates the presence of these violent, sick, one-side thinking directed elements and I feel ashamed myself of being a fan of them all these years and financing them by buying an album of them.

A great news for Naer Mataron fans.(Honestly?...Yes.)

Before this gets derailed into a political discussion, let's get the focus back on the music. I recently listened to the new EP and, to be honest, I don't like it.

I didn't listen to the new EP yet, but I have high hopes for their new full length (out on July 6th)
