OMG! What a surprise? I had no idea COB would win...

Its truly amazing that somebody would actually think otherwise. I mean you chose the most mainstream finnish metal band, and compared it to the most well know metal band. And everyones going to pick COB simply because they know the name.

Nightwish is at least as well known, if not better known, than CoB, especially among casual metal fans. I know many people who had heard Nightwish but had never heard of CoB before I mentioned them.

In general, thats true, but cob are more popular online than nightwish... especially on this site.

Children Of Bodom, It is much better

I like the both, but still NW closer to my heart because the female fronted metal and the symphonic in general.

In other times, I would choose Nightwish maybe, but lately female-fronted bands are pissing me off...
And anyway, I am listening to heavier things lately So, my vote goes for CoB obviously

I don´t know, maybe someday I will like it again, but nowadays, women´s voices just disturb me... Is nothing I can explain, but it how it goes, I prefer CoB and it doesn´t makes Nightwish being worse;D

General rule of thumb-Children of Bodom will win any poll on Metalstorm.

Bodom!! I like Nightwish too until they got rid of tarjia and replaced her with a bland pub singer. Saw them a few years ago. They were awful. Your one couldn't hold a note.

Don't like Children of Bodom.... I love nightwish, my vote is for them

Both bands used to be great,
NW only have 1 weak album - DPP;
Cob have:Are You Dead Yet? ,Blooddrunk,Relentless Reckless Forever and whatever is coming next.
And these albums are all worse than DPP.
So......

The 'ultimate' Finnish Metal band? I will definitely have to say Children of Bodom, and I am a regular listener to both them and Nightwish, and I love them both!

It's my opinion that Children of Bodom is more 'Metal' than Nightwish, though both groups incorporate some excellent riffs and progressions, Children of Bodom has more influence in the Metal scene, especially with the change up in lead vocals with Nightwish.

But, that's just me. They're both pretty killer.

Both very good, but i just seem to appeal o Children Of Bodom's stuff just that much more, and they seem to be more influential, so I'll go with them.
I also like some of children of bodoms riffs more so then nightwish

Big fan of CoB but Nightwish are far and away more talented.

I'd say Nightwish because I dont like COB at all and they gave one of the worst shows I ever saw live at Graspop a couple of years back. I really like Nightwish though, one of the few bands with female vocals that I really like.

New Nightwish is better but old Bodom is better. So really imo their kind of the same.

It smells like a fucking brie factory in here.

My vote goes to Nightwish because out of the 10+ albums between the two bands, they've released the only one I'd listen to ever again: Once. (Ironic?)

Still of these two I vote Nightwish, I had a good time with HCDR but IMO that's one of the better albums from Children of Bodom and considering how revered they are, they are definitely an overrated band.

Children of Bodom of course... Nightwish is a great band but Cob is the best melodic extreme metal band ever (personally speaking) These guys are so fucking technical that can create awesome songs and perform great covers.... Their last albums suck but anyway ... Children dude!

Both bands don't have much in common and can't really be compared.

You compare 2 bands with different styles .

And my favorite band from Finland (Not the best, but my favorite) is Ensiferum.

Used to listen to some Demigod. Good stuff. Demilich's pretty good too.
