?A Blue Fire" is the newest output by Nahui, a solo project of the Italian musician Luca Gianotti, and is his first album after two EPs. Apart from Luca we have Andrea Martella who helps him out with the drumming and Stefano Zanetti who takes over some of the guitar parts.

Nahui is very difficult to pinpoint in the musical spectrum, but I think the description "dark/melancholic alternative rock" is probably the closest I can get. Influence-wise the only influences I can detect for sure are some touches of modern Anathema here and there. Some parts of the music are progressive, whilst others are rather simple. The vocals are very melancholic, yet the music is often quite uplifting. The general atmosphere is dark, yet in a friendly way. And all of this is delivered on a solid rock foundation.

The whole debut is pretty slow and the songs are usually a bit repetitive, so this probably isn't really music for the masses and I suppose that many of you readers would get bored of it pretty soon. However there is quite some variation between the separate songs and the album clocks in at a short 36 minutes. While it seemed extremely unspectacular to me on first listen I have found this release very "soothing" on every consecutive spin I gave it. This is the kind of album I can see myself turning to whenever I feel bad and need some music to change my mood for the better again.

I highly recommend followers of melancholic rock or dark alternative music with some slight proggy touches to give this one a try. For all the others, this probably isn't your kind of thing and it will most likely bore you.

Favourite tracks: Fluid Hollow, After The Wave. Least favourite: Berlin

Silenius, it's not a good word. And as I'm very bad at Russian language, I probably even can't tell it right.

I wonder what does this mean in Italian o.0
As in Russian, nahui literally means "on penis" while it's actually used as "go fuck yourself" or something like that. He better not dare to tour in Russian-speaking countries, lol.

The hell....I was expecting it to be some obscene punk/grind/porngrind act from former USSR....if they ain't aware of the meaning of their name then this name choice is most epic fail....
Mayb they'll change the name into Naher or Nahren....

I understand elementary Russian and I am also impossibly immature. Thus, this is my new favorite band.
