Gamma Ray have posted the following short update on their website:
"Gamma Ray has started working on new material for the next studio album, which is planed to be released in late Autumn. Next tour will probably start in November."

Hah, I haven't even heard the previous one yet and they're already following that up. Somehow this feels like they're rushing with new material because I discovered the band just after they released No World Order in 2001, then they didn't release anything for a long while and now this is the third new album in what has felt like a really short time. I mean I've been listening to Majestic so seldom that it feels like it came out last year.

Yeh, even though I love the band - I sure hope this next one (which will probably end up coming out next year anyway.. they always do..) is more original. The last album was certainly questionable.

That message yesterday was just the official confirmation I guess. Look for "New interview with Tobias!", posted on November 24th 2008, here (fifth question).

He said that he'd be releasing the newest Edguy album (Tinnitus) and then release the Scarecrow continuation by 2009 end. I'm sure that there'll be another delay though, probably early 2010 but you never know.
