So how about the lyrics on Goat Horns and backwards , what are they about?

Well thoose albums lyrics are not published as far as I know (only To The Gates of... has lyrics published). The few things you can hear from the earlier albums is basiclly some slight national-romantisism and the typical pagan lyrics.

Actually, Nokturnal Mortum wouldn't have a straight NS lyric if not by The Call Of The Aryan Spirit.

Assholes like Nokturnal Mortum think they belong to a "racial group" that actually considered them sub-humans.

And wanted their total annihilation. And they want to be a part of that. Ironic. And the most NS bands are slavic ones. As if they regret their slavicness

It is indeed a sick sick world ^^- Let the sarcasm and ironi flow. I think nokturnal mortums beliefs is incredibly retarded and to be honest I actually think they are doing this for one of theese 2 reasons:
1. They got to popular because of Lunar Poetry and Goat Horns and wanted to stay "underground" by making themselves hated.
2. They want people to talk about them and thus promoting them and still be able to call themselves underground because of the "human hating" nazism involves....

Its rather funny but whatever. ^^

Varggoth and Saturious also work in a project called Aryan Terrorism (heres a link, dont know if it works : http://www.metal-archives.com/ , if not search with band name dah ) so my guess would be that these guys would have been into this stuff for a time. Dont know why they brought it into Nokturnal Mortum tough, would be wery intressting if someone who knows the language could tell me what the lyrics on goat horns and older are about.

bleh ! all know that NM are NS ... and ? i don't think that we are here to say if this band or an other are NS or communist or greenpeace or some other shit like that , we are here to speak about the music , and why we love/hate it . NM is a good symphonic/pagan black metal band , which have an exelent atmosphere , i have all of their album , but i'm not NS , so what ? Varggoth play in aryan terrorism , they are in the pagan front , but the music is good , then , it's not because they are slavonics ns (what a crazy idea ) that they don't play good music ... they are simply idiots .

Argh! one of my favourite bands..Slava Nokturnal Mortum!

If you like very synthdriven BM you should start out with Goat Horns.
If you like melodic guitardriven BM check out Lunar Poetry.
If you like aggressive black metal with melodic touches and folky parts NeChrist is the way to go.
If you like folky / pagan bm check out Weltanschaaung.
And if you like you symphonic BM very fast check out To the gates of the blasphemous fire.

My own fav album is NeChrist, mainly because I like my bm with a raw and folky touch..

Please do! I am always intressted to get any material possible of NM performing live etc. By the way did they play a song from their upcomming album "The Voice of Steel", or did they say anything about it?

Their an awrite band. I've got Goat Horns and Weltanschauung and have to say I prefer Weltanschauung better even though some songs feel too slow.

I urge you to check out NeChrist, my fav album from Nokturnal Mortum. Its without doubt both their rawest and fastest release. It might just be the best album ever written...

I downloaded and listened the title track of that album, and I think that particular song was just average type of song (from the band)... how's the rest of the album?

Its a good album, but also their weakest release. It somehow reminds me a little of Anthems to the welkin at dusk. (Uberspeed with some piano melodies and synths). If you just download albums, download all of Nokturnal Mortums albums, I highly recommend all of them.

@ NS ideology : Well I think thats rather obvious seeing they have been active in The Pagan Front since 1999 or something..but its not something that bothers me. Cultural perservance and racial segregation isnt even close to the stupidity of any abrahamic religion...

I am really tired with that Slavic NS ideology. All the people use to say I don't listen them cause they ar NS, faschist, raceist... Some of them maybe are, but it is something different than Hitler's NS ideology, anyway, I agree with Basso, I couldn't care less for that if music is good.

I finally downloaded it... yes, it really reminds of 'Anthems..... dusk'.. anyway, I think its a still a great album; we can easily notice that the band has a bit different sound/style in each of their full lengths, and in this (to the gates...) they have another unique style..

For me its:

1. Nechrist
2. Lunar poetry ( great ep )
3. To the Gates of Blasphemous Fire
4. Goat Horns
5. Weltanschauung

Im not much of a folk guy ( referring to weltanschuang )...but other than that its a band that has balls in their music. And I like balls. I don't really give a shit about their Ideology, 'Call of the Aryan Spirit' is a crushing song as well. If its the NS in the band that gives the drive for the bands motivation, so be it.

I was listening to a last.fm radio station and the song Perun's Celestial Silver (or something like that) started. I was stunned from beginning to end. It was fantastic. I sure will pick up some album soon!
