even official snow mobile roads are 99% safe, but we ride over all and be in ice its always at your own risk, and mid april is my border when I go on the ice
We have one ice road for cars, in Luleå you can drive car to small islands . To get to the town I need cross 6 lakes, by snow mobile and almost all roads cross some water way. I gass as crazy when I cross rivers or big big lakes
Ok, so the deal is that everywhere, the book, and specially the movie, gets bashed around all the time for being an insult to the 'vampire genre', or for whatever reason. I personally don't know much about it, in fact, I haven't read the book, or books, and haven't seen the movie either, so I wouldn't have any intelligent or backed up reason for bashing it, except for what I've heard from a lot of people. I know some of you might've read the book, or watched the movie, so I'd guess you'll have some comments.
Now, instead of having bashing comments about Twilight on several threads, and people bashing it all around, I though I'd open this so it could be discussed properly. And by properly I also mean sticking to posting rules of MetalStorm. Please! I'll leave this pic just to start heating up things
Bum reviews kicks as:D, these books and movies are generic waste that for me proves the upcoming downfall of man, all shall perish due to stupidity and lack of braincells
I am just in love with vampires so whatever they are making, i am buying
I'm no expert on vampire novels, but I'm sure you could do better than the Twilight series, couldn't you?
sure, but i see the story is nice, i mean part 1.
You could always go for the classical Bram Stoker's Dracula (the novel, do not even remotely come near the movie adaptation... )
the book really?? coz i saw some parts of the movie and i didnt like it :s , anyway i am going to by hell of books this week so thanx for the add . any other recomendations ?

If you can find Elizabeth Knox's "Daylight" thats quite good - pretty much what a modern vampire novel should be like.
First, I will admit to being a total nerd, just so that I can get that whole part out of the way.
Second, the author of the Twilight series literally won an award for one of the driest sex scenes ever written.
And third, she butchered the concept of diction entirely. However, I won't blame the woman for her last... however many books, because she was literally receiving death threats in the mail because she 'wasn't writing fast enough'. So it's understandable that there is pretty much zero maturity to the way she has laid out and 'illustrated' her plot. And she also happened to write several other books that were not nearly as popular as the Twilight 'saga'; ironically, they were all much better written and had significantly respectable reviews.
Fourth. I have to shift the blame to the fans, who (no offense, Roro) don't seem to recognize that a book takes time. They also don't seem to know what quality means.
So basically...the whole situation kind of hits a nerve. But the movies are hilarious. I'm sure they aren't supposed to be... but how can you take shiny vampires seriously?

Let the Right One In (Låt den rätte komma in), by Swedish writer John Ajvide Lindqvist.
Check it out and the film adaption if you like vampires.
One of my favourite books, the movie is very beautiful too. Especially since it takes place in my area of Stockholm too, going out at night feels different now.
Seriously now, I don't think the book is as bad, but I'll never watch that goddamn teen crap of a movie. It's target demographic are girls that watch One Tree Hill and OC anyway, and listen to Justin Bieber.
You know, even if the book is terrible, it has given me hope for the future. If Stephanie Meyer can write the literary equivalent of shit and become extremely successful, then so can I. The only difference is that my work will actually be good.
Well there was soap operas 10 years ago...now there are films like this...you can still get load of quality stuff if you want and try though, so i wont be so afraid
---- My rest seems now calm and deep
Finally I got my dead man sleep

But that's the thing, if your book is actually good it won't become extremely successful. Shoot for the lowest common denominator: teenage girls. Go forth and separate them from their parents' money...

Alas, that is the major problem with our society. No one ever bothers to consume quality. They only consume shit. How do you think Dan Brown became so successful? The people who obsess over Twilight are also the same types of people who went to watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen over and over again and helped to make it one of the highest grossing movies of all time.
