Brütal Legend - Complete Game Soundtrack Revealed

GameDaily.com has revealed the complete tracklisting for the Brütal Legend video game, which will be available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, on October 13 in North America and on October 16 in Europe.

"This soundtrack took years to put together as we wanted to represent every genre of Metal, and also have the perfect music for every epic moment in the game," says Tim Schafer, President of Double Fine Productions development studio. "It's designed to be loved by Metal fans, and for those who are not, it will either convert them or make their heads explode... or both."

"What can I say?," Emily Ridgeway Brütal Legend's music director adds. "It's metal. It's the best. It'll kick your f***ing teeth in."

According to a press release, Brütal Legend is the new heavy-metal themed action game, starring the voice of actor Jack Black. Brütal Legend tries to bring the funny along with a third-person action game will have you pulling off the proverbial kitchen sink of video game antics.

Brütal Legend tells the tale of Eddie Riggs, played by Jack Black, who is drawn back through time to a mythical world immersed in Rock and Roll folklore; where great Metal titans once ruled and power chords rang from the countryside for all to hear. When an oppressed people request Eddie's knowledge of modern warfare, he pulls from his own experience in the only occupation he's ever had, a roadie for a Heavy Metal band. From this springs the most hellacious army man has ever seen, and thus brings this ancient world into the Age of Metal.

Iced Earth, Running Wild and Manowar? Quite strange to see these bands in a game, shite games like guitar hero would never put awesome bands like these in

I think it was quite obvious they would include Manowar, since their music is as commercial and cheesy as metal can be. This shit band is mainstream as fuck.
What takes me by surprise is to see no Metallica song, since this band is extremely mainstream too.
Also, Iron Maiden's absence is very weird.

Hardly put Manowar in the same mainstream category as Iron Maiden and Metallica, so many metal fans I talk to have never even heard of Manowar, its thrash or iron maiden and nothing else

I've been interested in this game for a while, and that soundtrack is awesome! I am surprised to see bands in there such as Bishop of Hexen, Mirrorthrone, Slough Feg, Carcass, and Tvangeste in there. This soundtrack is another reason why I want this game, although I don't know if I have the appropriate gaming consoles for it. Nope, I don't have the console. Dang it! This game seems awesome, and I don't have the consoles! Crap!

Manowar are much less popular but their music is no less commercial. In fact, it's much more hard rock-ish than Maiden and Metallica.

Woah, sweet soundtrack. The lack of Dio looks kind of fishy given that he used to be in the game before Ozzy...but besides that I have no complaints.

I haven't listened to Sabbath for a while but chances are one of their tracks in the game is with Dio at the helm.

I'm not a huge fan of video games played on console, I prefer to play on PC by far even though I'm not addicted to that. But this game could lead me to change my point of view. Anyway, the trailer is funny and the soundtrack is awesome too.

The music is commercial? Even though the music has some very bad lyrics, is repetitive and the musicians aren't exactly top class I would say they should be congratulated for doing what they want for nearly 30 years . I don't understand why Manowar or Iron Maidens music would be commercial, surely commercial is doing what your record label tells you to do , or making music you know will sell instead of what you want to play

And btw, it's directed by Tim Schafer the guy who has done Secret Of Monkey Island (I & II) Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle etc! Legendary games and as I know this guy is a real metalhead! (you probably remember those old games Marcel )

I stopped playing computer games entirely after 1993, and even at that time I only played them on a pc. So the last one I played was one of the early Lazy Larry ones

i think you meant Leisure Suit Larry =P

That's the same one Here in The Netherlands it was better known as Lazy Larry.

I also thought that Ronnie James Dio was going to be in it. So if Ozzy is in it I smell the foul stench of Sharon.

This is what the wikipedia entry has to say on it....

Though Ronnie James Dio of Black Sabbath had performed parts for the game, his role was replaced with voice work from Tim Curry.[21] While the change was speculated to be due to tense issues between Osbourne and Dio, Schafer noted that as Dio's intended character, "Doviculus, Emperor of the Tainted Coil", grew, they found that Curry fit the role better for the part, citing Curry's role of the Lord of Darkness in the film Legend as a key factor.[22]
