From list its hard to choose Death, or Obituary, Obituary, sounds, sings better, but Death are more know outside metal world, so I dunno, i vote for Obituary

that was really hard to choose from especialy between MA, CC, Death & Obituary but I think Obituary was the most original between them since they still sound like when they first started

Im not really concerned about vocals when it comes to DM, but most original guitar sound I'd give it to either Death or Morbid angel. Pete is a genius, and his drumming is powerful, but the recording on domination IMO sucked. Autopsy is pretty kick ass.

come on... I know its only your opinion!! ... but give the guy some credit.... I'm listening to "Where the Slime lives" as I post this... and this is the shit...

Autospy, Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, Malevolent Creation and Morbid Angel aren't really that original all though they're still all really fuckin' headbangin' awesome floridian death metal bands...it's just that Death was doing all that back in the mid 80s...so that would make Death more original then all of them and Chuck was always pushing Death to be more original and more creative on every following album...so much that the band collapsed on itself...Obituary are right up with Death for originality...the both of them would be two great contestants to side against each other...Deicide too I would keep on that list...I have a lot of respect for Glen Benton...always there growling out the awareness the Satanic community while having solid, agressive, consistant death metal behind him...I highly recommend the album Insineratehymn...it is very technical, featuring a lot of odd-time signatures and it's very original...Incantation I can't say anything about because I've never heard any of their stuff...

Sadly, mine is mostly Death. Thing is, I think they're the most original out of all these listed anyway because most of the others on that list aren't terrible original as the Kap'n said. You should have added Nile and Visceral Bleeding to shake things up a bit or maybe we could have stretched this to a North American poll and added Cryptopsy and Katakylsm.

Not to say the leat about Pete, its a great album, but I just think the studio needs to put the db on the drums abit higher...I like the album, but I just think that Trey and the team were reaching for another God of Emptiness in songs like Where the slime libes.

I'm gonna say the most origional Death metal band is the guys who Brought us the stuff, Death.
I mean, they gave us blast beats, and had a diversified varrying sound from album to album,
They were the origionals, how can you even GET more origional then the first, because then it was all brand new to evey one.

...hmm...i'd say death is the one, they've influenced many groups that nowadays wouldn't exist...their style was unique and they actually made a kind of revolution in metal...

Cannibal Corpse ! When they came nothing like it was ever made. Surely Death was allready singing death metal, but Cannibal Corpse brought the brutal death metal, gore metal. Death had gore lyrics in the first album, but u can not compare them with what Cannibal Unleashed ! Even more, nobody did any thing like that, brutality, gore, extreme violence, murder scenes like nothing ever heard ( especialy de first album ).

They didint do the total Gore and Guts thing that every death metal band does, they dont write the same riffs all the time, not always fast chugging riffs, some are nice soft beautiful riffs.

Also they were amazing at the beggining of their career, and i admit there not as good, but are still amazing.

It was between Death, Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse. They are all original in their own aspects. Even though they are the band that I like the least from the three, I do feel that they are the most original so I voted Cannibal Corpse.. Atheist would have made the poll a bit more interesting though..

Like the last answer,definitley Dan Seagrave is a monster,also love "Ten Commandments".Also I wrote reviews for both of those albums,check em' out.

Death later changed their style later on, so how can they be original?
Anyway, I've always been a Death fan, and all their albums are important to me,. although I voted for cannibal corpse as they have always been close to their original style.

Damn This is hard to decide. All those bands are fucking awesome , but if talking about the most original one , I must say Death.
So yes , perhaps I will change my mind afterwards but whatahell...

Most of my votes went for Death because they were one of the very first DM bands out there, and also because I think they had a very good evolution with their newer progressive sound. Also the album covers are just great.
