since a short while i have found a liking for brutal deathmetal, preferably with very fast drumming,
till now i have heard: Deicide, Kataklysm, Nile, Krisiun, Cryptopsy and Mithras, and i like all of them alot,
Still better than melodic death metal, which not only most of the time isn't melodic at all but the death metal part is also questionable
Both sub-genres are totally boring. It's because they're very limited in what they employ in their music. And Marcel is right, brutal death metal isn't brutal. It's ridiculous and pointless. With a few exceptions, but still.

I would prefer melodeath over the so called "brutal death", which I don't think is even a genre at all.
Vile Apparition, bludgeoning new Australian Old School Brutal Death in the vein of early Suffocation,Cryptopsy,Deeds of Flesh and some Ripping Corpse influence.
Funny thig about Brutal Death Metal is that it isn't brutal at all.

Disagree unless you tralk about modern, old mid 90's swedish as Eucharon Gates Of Ishtar, The Everdawn, The Moaning , Seterliak, Centerix are best thing what happened whit DN when it grow out of old school period when modern times arived and image and all changed. I like those fast, melodic riffs, insane drumming, old school vocal mix between creams and claner and so on
