Whoa, what happened to these guys? In 2008 they were the most annoying of all British deathcore bands (Bring Me The Horizon don't count anymore, do they?) and merely two years after their repulsive debut album Annotations Of An Autopsy deliver a death metal record. And it's death metal all the way, from the beginning blast-beats of "In Snakes I Bathe" to the ultra-heavy riffing of "Into the Black Slumber".

Annotation's best effort so far, though that isn't saying much. Lots of work needs to be done before these guys try asserting themselves as the "kings of UK death metal", and while the styles are different, they have nothing on Ignominious Incarceration. Overall this is less geared towards the deathcore fans and more towards the death metal fans; but don't expect this album to be even remotely similar to anything Bolt Thrower have produced.

Their next release will be the deciding factor for this band...

Bravo, these guys realized what a worthless style of music deathcore is and decided to play some real death fucking metal- Not to mention that it's also good. Carnifex also began making a transition towards death metal with their newest, and even Whitechapel's latest shows less core influence. Possibly this whole deathcore nonsense will die off soon, and a new era ruled by real heavy fucking metal will come

Not judging people who listen to deathcore for their "bad taste" or whatever - listen to whatever you like - but it would be nice if a lot of the deathcore bands that make the transition to death metal bring along some of their fans to join the party with the rest of us and possibly learn about and support other bands that aren't as commercial.

Maturer than their debut album, but there isn't really anything special on offer her. Everything is just average modern death metal, something I've heard a lot of from other bands.
