What the? The thread has been revived by a spam post. :\ ^^

I was actually just listening to Forbidden a couple of days ago. lol "Chalice Of Blood" is definitely one of thrash metal's ultimate anthems! Also, Glen Alvelais' solo in "Through Eyes Of Glass" is probably one of the most underrated solos in metal. Its a shame he was never a consistant mainstay in the metal scene, because with his talent, he definitely deserved to shine a lot more.

New album sounds very good! Some songs are really reminding me to the good old days and I was astonished that Rus still uses high screams. Awesomle riffs, screaming, fast fingered guitars and 100%pure Thrash!!!! Rus' vocals aren't as strong as in the old days anymore but nevertheless he did a great job!

Rate: 90/100

Jeez did I buy a different version of the new album? I don't really like it much at all. It's a little slow with underwhelming guitars and the entire thing just felt a little distasteful. I prefer most of the other comeback albums this year

I don't know what you're used to listen and what you actually know about the band to but the new Forbidden is a great album with unexpected links to their old days! I couldn't imagine Russ Anderson was still able to sound like this and furthmore I hear shredding solos, and overwhelming riffs, fantastic arrangements, technical played drums, ranging from fierce, aggressive numbers to catchy, song-oriented tunes all the way to towering, multi-faceted thrash metal workouts ... The album is both a nod to their past as well as updated for the present

Yeah, but you say that about almost everything. I like their first two, but I can't really stand anything else they've done. The guitars on this album are really lacking, and none of the solos stick in my head.

I personally don't like the "Distortion" and "Green" albums. The difference between those albums, and "Omega Wave", is that now they can pull off a more modern sound unlike the first two albums I mentioned, which were dull and uninspired. The new album has a modern edge to it, only this time it's welded onto their old thrash style. There are a couple of dull fillers I could have lived without, but overall, I think "Omega Wave" is a great return to form. Everyone has different opinions though, which is all good. lol xD

Yeah, during my first spin I turned it off in the middle of Swine because I just couldn't tolerate that track, and then I turned it back on later and the next song is a 2 minute filler, and all of a sudden I'm on track 7, and since track 1 was another 3 or so minute filler track, I was like FFUUUUU-

Ah... lol "Chatter" is the two minute "track" after Swine. Its totally pointless, and shouldn't be on the album really. :\ "Immortal Wounds" is a boring track to me, I always skip it when Im listening to the album. The highlights for me are "Forsaken At The Gates", "Overthrown", "Adapt Or Die", "Dragging My Casket", "Behind The Mask", and the title track. The others I can take or leave, with "Immortal Wounds" probably being the track I like least, discounting the stupid "Chatter", anyways!
