btw. i forgot to mention Nebelhorn and Kinstrife & Blood in my previous post

Anaal Nathrakh. Contrary to popular belief, their name has nothing to do with the anus. As previously stated, Impaled Nazarene is an awesome name as well.

Not really.. I just don't associate fancy with good oftenly

I like Immortal, Emperor, Samael, Behemoth, Mumakil, Atheist, Edge of Sanity, Dismember, Entombed, Immolation... mostly one word names but my favorite remains Immortal.

Well, Children Of Bodom has something for me. The name itself isn't really that cool, but basing your bands name on mysterious murders is pretty awesome

Further, Agalloch sounds nice, Paradise Lost, Iced Earth, Drudkh, Eluveitie (sounds so sweet and flowery ), Bastaerdschwaerd, names like that.

What is so great about Iced Earth.The name itself feels kinda lame.they are a great band that does really good Metal but the name cmon its like calling your band Frosty Dirt.

I don't know, maybe the idea of a frozen earth. Guess it's difference in taste.

Yeah when you think about the whole planet it packs more punch.It's just not the first image that comes to mind when I hear their names.

On a different note, One great name for a Metal band would be Black Sabbath. it invokes really dark,culty and bloody images for me.

Death.

It's suits the band perfectly. It's short, simple, too the point and it just a fuckin' metal name.

I almost forgot Graveworm. I think that one is my favorite.

I always thought Voivod was a good name for a metal band.

In non Metal bands, I would have to go with Immortal Technique or Jedi Mind Trick.Those names are just awesome

System of a Down always sounded cool.

There's a band called Face Down in Shit. I haven't heard their music, but I think their name tells me all I need to know (if anyone would like to contradict me, be my guest)

Cattle decapitation is a good name. Although this time the album art of a cow's backside with a human head sticking out of it tells me all I need to know about their music (although I don't mind The harvest floor).

Neurosis would take the cake for me though.

Strapping Young Lad, in my opinion, is the epitome of awesomeness. It conveys both a sense of power and humor, perfectly describing the band.

Well I might have something old but why don't you take current names you like & translate them in either aramiac or latin but within english letters many bands do that.
