This is nothing but generic glam metal. But, it was a start for Pantera. I still find it ironic how Phil Anselmo said that Pantera has survived every trend (including glam metal), when they WERE a glam metal band. Maybe he thinks of Glam and Groove Pantera as two completely different bands with the same name... that's kinda true, actually. Lol.

Been a Pantera fan since 101 Proof came out. Never got around to listen to their stuff from the 80s until now.

I wasn't too sure if I'd heard this before. I just started listening and I actually know the songs really well, and it's not bad

This album is just perfect. Biggest Part of Me is their best song. Better than the shit they would make with Phil Anselmo.

Magic is the pathway to Satanism so could promote insanity. The artwork clearly depicts a spawn of the devil as well. This is bad and you shouldn't like this.

No. It doesn't. The Satanic Illuminati wants you to believe that nonsense. Those are the same people that believe that Katy Perry and Justin Bieber are satanic. This is by far their best and most godly album.

Absolute blasphemy. You're going to Hell for sure for listening to such sacrilegious music.

This music is not sacrilegious. Pantera's groove stuff, the I Am The Night title track, and D trap are sacriligious.

The album is also full of themes that are not chaste, particularly in Tell Me If You Want It and Ride My Rocket. This promotes impure thoughts and sexual acts that are improper. You should not like this.

They are love songs. I like love songs. They are better than Pantera's later lyrics that sing about worshiping Satan, and hating Christ, and murdering children.

Ah yes, that classic love song "Ride My Rocket." You've lost your way. You should repent and seek absolution for indulging in songs about carnal matters.

Ride my Rocket is okay. It is a love song and it is not aggressive. It is better than I Am The Night and D Trap or worse yet S-d or By Ds be Driven or G-Damn Electric and other songs that criticize Christ and the meek and teach you how to repeat another Colombine and West Memphis Three.

Taking into account that Vinnie was 19 and Dimebag 17 when they released this album and with their dad producing it, I'd say this is pretty good. Very typical 80's glam metal and it's obvious that Dimebag was already a very skilled guitarist despite his young age. So you just gotta take it for what it is, a fun little album and the origin of Pantera which makes this way more interesting than other generic 80's glam metal bands that disappeared into obscurity.
