It's sad that Norther won't probably do any Dreams of Endless War type of songs, probably because many people said it sounded too much like CoB. A music reporter actually said that DoEW would actually be a 5 star debut, but he gave only 2 stars since he didn't find it so original. F*cking finnish and our way of comparing everything to everything.

IMO, i love everything from Norther. But i have a little weakness for Mirror Of Madness. Dreams of Endless War was great, thats true, but yeah, the following albums sounded more "new".

And ahem, how can i talk about Norther without mentioning Petri Lindroos, their very... ahem.... good-looking frontman ?.... *sigh* ... He's even better in Norther than in Ensiferum...

DOEW is a 5 star album it's perfection, and the reason why they will never do any songs like this again is the same reason Norther, Bodom and Kalmah all won't. Times have changed and like it or not this is what they play now and they won't go backwards but only move further away from the earlier sounds.

Wich sucks, because CoB's Something Wild untill Follow The Reaper period was amazing, and Mirror Of Madness - Death Unlimited are masterworks. The new Norther album sucks imo, and CoB's could be worse, but still, i'd like it better if they would just recycle their old, good material rather then creating new bad material.

That's a better cover than the Till Death Unites Us one, and it's WAAAAAAAAY better than the god-awful Solution 7 (or whatever it's called) cover. Good to see them returning to their blue 'n' grey roots .

Wow, I didn't even know they had a new EP coming out. Very interesting cover, looks kind of like a necro outhouse in my opinion, bad ass though.

Oh, I think it's a good enough cover, and it suits the album - but as a Norther cover I don't think it quite works. Too red .

RE: the new promo pics - Pete looks really cool in the outside pic where he's facing the camera. Aside from that... it's a pretty lame photoshoot. The drummer looks like a skaterpunk in the photos with the blue background.

Haha, they definitely need to relive the days of "Dreams of Endless War."

I still believe that Mirror Of Madness is their best album, very closely follow by Death Unlimited, but the new material might just kick MOM and DU's asses

i think the new song, "Frozen Angel" sounds a tad Americanized, how very very sad

for me the reason is the melody. they later became more technical i guess. but before the way the songs were written was better IMO

i still like all of Norther stuff!!

To be quite honest...I really didn't like anything after "Dreams of Endless War"..:l

I really liked it at first, but the more you listen to it, the older it gets. Particularly the lyrics.

I did hear some a good song from Norther, it was pretty fast but I forgot the names. Basically, I just need that from Norther that I would be looking for, whats their good stuff?

Can't wait for new EP... should be good. MoM is definitely my fave norther album - but this track No Way Back sounds like it could be one my favourites and i've only heard a little sample. Needless to say Norther is probably my favourite band.

...okay so No Way Back has leaked on the net, and it sounds good

i'm gonna listen to it more and give my opinion, but i'm definitely buying this when it comes out!!

yeah this EP grows after a couple of listens just like the Frozen Angel clip,,, i specially like C.U.S and Reach out!

...BUT here is an interesting fact, listen to Destruction - Deposition (Your Heads Will Roll) from Thrash Anthems and compare it with the opening riff of "Reach Out" they are almost the identical basically!!

weird because both are new songs that came out this year o_O


EDIT: yeah i know it is out it finland, but i wan tot buy it when it comes out officially in Europe, this way it is more obvious for the stupid record label to realise these guys have lotsa fans OUTSIDE finland!! though i'm not sure if this actually is valid...

hmmm havent heard anything on the EP cept i saw the clip for Frozen Angel and i wasnt impressed its a little too "pop" for my liking and they're making WAAAY too much use of Ranta's vocals. He can sing and all but its getting a bit much...

I will comment again when i hear the entire EP.
