What has happened to the Minnesota metal scene???
We have many good local bands, but I can't ever find them playing anywhere!
Our two best metal promoters have passed away (Earl Root and Don Decker) and The Rock closed it's doors, and our scene seems to have passed away with them.
Roberts in Mounds View has taken over some bigger shows, but still, even good metal cover bands seem to not show up at all the other venues.
If you know of some quality bands playing somewhere, list them here for the rest of us!
Don't let metal die in Minnesota!!!! Show your support!!!

My band Heliosaga currently lives in Minnesota. I am from Texas so I'm not familiar with the scene yet. I've been told that it finally died when station 4 closed. It seems to me that a venue does have something to do with the scene but I feel like there are only a few metal bands compared to what I'm used to in Texas. So would the scene be any better WITH station 4? I am not sure. I'm sure promoters have an effect on the scene as well. I am not familiar with them either though

We would love to play but we need a bass player and a second guitar player to play live. We just released our debut album, "Towers in the Distance". If someone wants to point some musicians our way, maybe we can get giggin'!

Check us out!

I moved to st cloud a while back and it's nothing but connor mcgregor clones that just listen to rap up here. Any info on metal clubs or bars would be appreciated. I figured Minnesota would have a much better metal scene than it does
