The best band in Romania, and one of my favorite ones, Negura Bunget manages to make a very good folk influenced black metal. Their best album IMO is N'Crugu Bradului, it has very good lyrics (although in Romanian, at DarkLyrics you can find the translations), and very high quality instrumentations. The interesting thing about this band is, that it's well known outside Romania, but beyond borders, it's very unknown, even in the BM world.

I would argue their later albums are closest. 'n Crugu Bradului and Maiestrit should probably fit the bill... Maiestrit is Maiastru Sfetnic completely redone.
their latest is similar, but somewhat stripped down a tad (for easier live performance, i imagine), but is virtually a completely new band as the two primary creative elements left.

2/3 of the band that created OM went on to form Dordeduh. They only released an EP of 13 minutes so far, but you might enjoy it.

Mesa and Tempe are about the same place, not sure why they would go to Albucrackee and double back before moving further east to Texas.
