Ok, so what is everones favourite Death album? In my opinion Human is on top, but only slightly... This is because of the degree of intensity and speed within this album.... It also, IMO contains one of the greatest tracks ever created 'Suicide Machine'

Symbolic and Scream Bloody Gore follow close behind.

My very favorite had got to be Fragments of the D-Generation by Disarmonia Mundi. I just love them. Although they are Melodic Death, not raw death. When it comes to full blown death, I love The Archaic Abattoir by Aborted.

...Well, it's my first post on the new version of the website, so it may as well be on a thread about Death!

As always, I have without batting an eyelid, voted for the timeless "Scream Bloody Gore". The feeling that album gives to me is as strong as the first day I heard it!

Ah! Brings back memories!

We're talking about the band Death, meTalcoholic.

My favourite is easily The Sound Of Perseverance. A fucking crushing album with memorable riffs, great lyrics and Chuck's voice is incredible.

Woah. I'm sorry, I completely misread that. I swear I must have turned blind for 2 seconds. I don't know very many of their albums. Of the ones I know, however, my favorite is Human.

This is a hard one, but I must vote for Human. Not too techy, not too melodic.... kinda like an old Death meets new Death album... plus his voice didn't get too horrible yet

Personally I find Symbolic the best - not sure why, but TSoP never really clicked with me as much as the prior albums did.

To choose the best among the Death albums is one hell of a task. Every album is pure gold.
Though My fav wud be Symbolic but just by an iota compared to the others and the only reason for that is the progressive touch in that album with the death metal stands out and epic tracks suck as Crystal Mountain and Empty Words are among the best tracks od DEATH METAL.

Haha, my old thread thank you for bringing this back kind sir.
Anyways mine is definetly Symbolic. Definetly Death's best for me. Maybe not technically but I think they reached a level of feeling, emotion, and power here that they never surpassed. Not to mention quite a bit of nice playing Human is second for me, then it gets hard after that...maybe Leprosy?
They're all amazing though.

Symbolic for me, I just can't get enough of it, all the others are good enough, but for me, Symbolic is the perfect balance between Death Metal and Progressive Metal. The Sound Of Perseverance is more prog.:banger:

My favourite one is the debut, Scream Bloody Gore. The vocals are at their best, the guitar riffs are nothing less than perfect. Songs like Torn To Pieces, Evil Dead and Zombie Ritual top almost every song Death had ever composed... My second favourite would be Individual Thought Patterns. The line-up on that album is fucking amazing. Chuck on vocals/guitars, Andy Laroque on guitars, Steve DiGiorgio on bass and Gene Hoglan on drums... simply a killer group of musicians. They are all among my favourite musicians, and every instrument on that album is highlighted. You hear incredible (fretless) bass playing, technical drumming, solos, amazing riffs... The only reason I prefer SBG is because I prefer oldschool DM over technical DM. But both are masterpieces, it wasn't too easy to choose.

I'll have to go for 'other' category!

I'm not a typical death metal head but I enjoyedall those albums cited on the list but the one for me that really makes me go crazy is 'Nightmares Made Flesh' by the band Bloodbath!

I know it's not a 'real'band and all but that album is just so fucking amazing... The music is ultra catchy even is the riffs (as many timesin the death metal) are quite easy... plus Peter Tangtrend is doing an incredible job at thevocals , so powerful !!

I justlove this album !
