Ok, so for real: space. I like it because it's so endless and just so overwhelming. I like it because there's plenty of great music it, our individual lives and the earth and the milky way and everything else is so goddamn small in comparison. It's full of fire balls (stars), comets, planets etc.

They're saying space travel should be possible (for commercial purposes) somewhere in 2014. You'll be shot about 100km high, for roughly ?70,000. Sounds like a great idea to me, if I can ever such a thing I'm definitely going for it.

What about you all? Discuss! (Or post awesome pictures of supernovas and such, but please, think about their size.)

But yeah, I'm a big fan of space myself, love scifi movies, novels, tv shows, comics [galctus and his heralds stuff; cosmics etc]

Wanted to be a cosmologist when I was younger but lost interest in sciences' at college and became more interested in Humanities and Language :/

Yeah, I like SF stuff too, and space is one of the favorite topics for every nerd out there anyway.

I'm a sucker for some good space sutff, I mean... when I'm really bored I use to just read random wikipedia articles just about space.

Recently i bumped into some info about the new James Webb space telescope. It looks very promising & high tech. It will be hubbles' successor, and it may be soon operational (2015 approximately -launch date).

I found myself from wikipedia (finnish version) which was quite short, it went someway like this: Annabel Chong aka Grace Quek (22.5.1972, Singepore) is a Singaporean porn actress. yeah all of those small dots both in the 2d and 3d models are galaxies, each one with billions of stars (and this model is not of the whole universe but of a small fraction, which we have seen with telescopes)...and as we speak our universe is expanding with a pace greater than the speed of light...and that pace is increasing with every passing moment...yeah

I realize moment i posted.

Space is one of my favorite things to just sit around and think about and watch tv about. I've spent a lot of time on the science channel and watching Cosmos. I dunno what it is, just something so untouchable and so vast, dangerous but simultaneously beautiful. It's amazing really. Any other shows about space you guys enjoy?
