I'm interested in seeing what song you would choose and possibly why the song makes you think.

I don't usually care about the lyrics, but maybe Leaders by Katatonia.

Katatonia are quite good for making you think.... so do My Dying Bride actually and Opeth.

Beyond The Realms Of Death by Judas Priest. It's about escaping this world, even if the only place you can escape to is your own lonely, tormented and sick mind. Still, it is a better place than the real world we are forced to live in, I think is the song's suggestion. Or maybe the song isn't suggesting anything, maybe it is asking the question: is our ability to think really worth anything? Is life worth anything at all? Did the main character of the song suffer a fate sadder or easier than the fate of the people who were forced to take care of him? I know what my answer is, everybody else has to figure it out for themselves.

Opeth lyrics are particularly brilliant, and well worth a read if you like poetry.

I'll also add Criminals by Katatonia. Whenever I listen to it, it reminds me of the fellow metalstromer called JD.

Criminals in fantastic, 'A Premonition' on the same album is also a favourite. As is 'Walking By A Wire'. In fact Viva Emptiness is a rather fascinating album in its entirety.

A Premonition by Katatonia is one particular favourite, and would suit this section quite well, perhaps not the best but it is one that jumps into mind.

I can't think of an individual song , but I would have to go with the ISIS discography, albums like Panopticon and Wavering Radiant really make me contemplate about my own surroundings. very deep music.
