I find that when I'm feeling sick (I guess sick = anything worse than typical cold...so bad cold, flu, anything else that makes me feel tired and crappy), I seem to lose my desire to listen to metal. I just feel too run down, like I don't have the energy to enjoy it. Generally I know I'm getting better when I start feeling the urge to throw on some Hibria (or whatever my latest interest is) again. Does it work the same way for most people? I'd guess yes, but no way to find out without asking, so cast your vote and add your comments.

Nah, it doesn't really work for me. When I listen to music I dedicate my whole complete attention to every little detail. If I'm sick, nausious, or I'm vomiting, feeling tired... then this becomes really difficult. Not such a big deal though, because when I get well, then it's all the more exciting to finally let the ears make love to heavy music again! Sometimes you don't know how much you really appreciate something until you miss it or lose it for awhile.

I just caught a pretty bad cold today, my tonsils are fucking killing me, everything huts and it feels like my head is about to explode any moment....it just so randomly happened that i heard some slayer a few minutes ago...so i thought what the heel, i'll put in "god hates us all" and it really makes me feel better. No idea how or why, it just does...and about what lamawalker said, there's no need to pay a lot of attention while listening to thrash, as most of it is just mindless aggression (especially old school) and besides, paying attention to the music or picking up the guitar (or bass in my case) and playing for a few hours lets you forget you sickness xD

It matters for me. If I've just got a cold or feel under the weather, then I'll still jam to some good metal. But if I'm SICK, I mean fever, shakes, puking/shitting my guts out, then no way. I don't feel like listening to hardly anything. I just want to sleep.
