I honestly hope he is just very successful at trolling. I find him hilarious with the language he uses in his reviews and stuff, but I also get why no one wants to be roasted by their peers
Often there are some bands which do not exactly fall into DEATH or BLACK metal category. So we call them Blackened death metal. It can be associated with death metal grunts or grownling with black metal playing styles or riffing to some extent and blast beats.
Bands like Angel Corpse, Zyklon, Vital Remains, Mitochondrion, Crionics, Melechesh, Necrophobic, Belphegor, Behemoth coming to my mind right now which can be classified under this genre.
Feel free to discuss all about Blackened death, bands associated with it, its evolvement through history and where its heading in near future! Thank You.
Doom posted a song that kind of sounds slightly black.I can hear it for sure. You guys ever heard of Bahal? Excellent blackened death metal. Kind of sounds like a rawer, more black metal driven version of Belphegor. And is Vital Remains even considered blackened death? It just sounds like regular ass death metal.
Spazmosity with Ola Lindgren on vocals.
Their debut Welcome Death from 2010 is ok, maybe more black then death.
I wanted the album last year but I couldn't order it in my fav store and later I forgot to search for it.
I don't think it's easy to find.
EDIT: I'm not sure Ola is on the 2010 album.
Welcome Death was recorded with singer Peter Emanuelsson, Ola is heard as a guest on the track Regicide
A bit late, but thanks.

it's damn hard to find good death metal nowadays. I've listened to them all, I can't find any other newer good death metal bands, let alone blackened death metal.
I have a lot of friends that listen to goatwhore. i'm not a fan myself. they're not bad, i just can't get into 'em.
personally, tech and brutal death are my preferred genres. not much into black at all.

What, no Dragged Into Sunlight? Hatred for Mankind is one of my favorite blackened death/doom releases in a LONG time. I played the fuck out of that album, it's everything I want out of my extreme music. Ugly, relentless hatred, brutal crushing atmosphere, and audio clips from some of my favorite serial killers? I couldn't get enough.
If you like your black metal recordings even more dirty and rough, they did an EXCELLENT live album last year:

War metal is pretty cool as well I just haven't really been interested in digging that far into it. There are a select few bands that I do like, the obvious ones such as Destroyer 666 and Angelcorpse.

If you ever feel like getting more into it, I have a list that I put together on here with some of the main influences and a couple of my own particular favorite releases in the genre. Feel free to check it out! You'll be able to get a footing in the genre at least and see what it is all about.
A few years back I quite enjoyed Aurora Borealis. Check it out:
This is great! Thanks for this!

In case you haven't heard of them, this is an excellent Canadian blackened death metal band.

Good call! Everything I love about extreme metal in one album!
Metherra released a death metal demo with a few touches of black metal a few years ago (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSckjsU7uh8)
The new album is more black metal with a touch of death metal, though.
Listen to the medley from the coming album (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v45lIaftXZA)
The band has a contest on facebook now where you may win the "World of Discord" demo (www.facebook.com/metherra)
