Korn - Update On New Dubstep Album

More good news from the Korn camp. After their collaboration single with hotter-than-hot Los Angeles dubstep DJ Skrillex, Korn are planning to release a dubstep studio album, expected to dominate the charts later this year.

Speaking to NME this weekend, Korn bassist Fieldy said the band was almost finished with the follow-up to 2010's Korn III: Remember Who You Are: "We've collaborated with six, maybe seven dubstep producers on the new record. I've done my parts, I think Jonathan Davis has a couple of vocal takes still to do, but it's almost done."

These dubstep producers/DJ includes such names as Kill The Noise, Excision, Skillets and 12th Planet.

Fieldy also said Jonathan Davis is responsible for inspiring the band's new dubstep direction. "Jonathan loved it," he said, "and he just got us into it." He added that the band felt it "was important to stay current and keep on top of what's going on."

In the meantime, check out Korn's collaboration single "Get Up" featuring Skrillex below.

Without that dubsteb shit, i think it could have been an OKAY song, but that scratching noise just ruined it for me...

Ohh, and "Korn are planning to release a dubstep studio album, expected to dominate the charts later this year. " made me laugh.. What a nice way of saying F..k you to us old fans, and trying to get new ones...

Don't be short sided! That's why I like to keep an open mind when it comes to music, theirs always room for experimenting. Stop acting like a bunch of music prudes.

Actually, this is far better than returning to the old sound .. Korn III was EPIC FAIL,,, and for me, i liked Korn when they get little experimental in their untitled album way more than any other recent Korn material ...

Edit: seriously, its even better than Morbid Angel Techno/Industrial Tracks

If I hear a worse track this year from a classic metal band than "Too Extreme!", I'll dye my hair blue! Even every track on Sepultura's "Kairos" is better than it. lol

I myself am not much into this whole new (maybe?) dubstep genre but what I am certain of is that this forthcoming Korn album will sell quite well indeed. Besides, I don't see why anything experimental that is not entirely metull seems lame. Don't pretend to be tr00 - that is lame. :

Haha this is, not surprisingly, pretty awful. At least they're trying to do something new, but they forget they're still an awful band. If you want metal and electronics mixed, just listen to Genghis Tron.

I think a dubstep/ *DEATH* metal hybrid project has a very good chance at sounding really cool if done correctly, however the more I listen to this, the less I like it.

I don't know why, but whenever I listen to dubstep I get this feeling that a Rammstein-type sound would work quite well.

The man known as Big Chocolate has done some dubstep-ish deathcore remixes. But sadly, it was deathcore. They're alright but nothing great really

über cash grab. Now that nü metal is dead, they hop in another wagon. Sadly, they're only followers this time.

Actually, this is the best thing to happen to metal since Illud Divinum Insanus.

It's a good thing they decided to change styles. their last few albums were unlistenable, and this song is actually surprisingly goodõ

and come on, all of you whining or laughing at Korn, what's up with you? you guys probably never liked them to begin with, why would you care what they do?

Well I personnaly never liked them, but I sure respected the fact they created a whole new musical current. But now that nu metal is dead, they jump on a trendy bandwagon. I find it pitiful, honestly.
And on a sidenote, I kinda like the song - if only Jonathan Davis wasn't there... (I hate his voice)
