Metal Mad Lib Review. Your Help Needed!

Written by: BitterCOld
Published: 01.07.2011

Friends, Romans, Metalstormers, lend me your verbs!

Ok, so I am fast approaching my 100th review for the site. Rather than just pump out another review then head back for a three-martini lunch at the MetalStorm Towers Cafeteria, I wanted to try something different. I wanted a hundredth review SPECTACULARRRRRR!!!! (pronounced Mexican style, loud, with rolling rrrr's, like on Sabado Gigante on Telemundo).

I want Audience Participation.

I'm doing this review Mad Lib style!

For those unfamiliar, check here for a test run. I'm going to write up a review with lots of blanks, and I'm relying on YOU to help fill 'em in.

That's right. Y'all get to help me ghost-write a review. I'm going to need your help in providing verbs, nouns, adjectives, and (Lolly Lolly Lolly's get your) adverbs here.

Refresher for those who learned English as a second language or who haven't even mastered it as their first, feel free to skip if you could pass my Grammar Nazi 101 Course.

Noun -Person, Place, thing. (Marcel, metalhead/Metalstorm Towers, Estonia/guitar)

Verb - Action word. (Shreds, pounds, screams)

Adjective - describes a noun (AMAZING album, EGOCENTRIC moderator)

Adverb - describes verbs, adjectives, usually end in "ly": (BRUTALLY riffs away/The vocalist screams POWERFULLY)

Rest assured, the band that is being reviewed in such a manner is a willing sacrifice - errr - participant. They know what they are getting into. Well, kind of. And have the big, brass Heavy Lord-sized balls to let you describe their album without knowing the first thing about it.

Key descriptive terms about the band that I will reveal to help you keep in mind when suggesting words:

Irish. Stoner. Rock. Riff.

I will need this many words:

Adjectives - 25
Adverbs - 4
Verb - 10
Noun - 8
Historical Figure - 2
Body Part - 3

So the 3rd grade standby adverb "Smelly" might not make the cut, but something creative like "Whiskey-reeking" will.

Please respond with your suggestions below as follows:

(blah blah great idea Bitter. You're awesome! Blah blah blah words words words)

Verb: Buy
Noun: Beer
Adjective: Freaky

That way I'll be able to quickly cut and paste your suggestions into the appropriate column of my superexcelreviewsheet. Of doom.

Thanks in advance for your help. Tune in next week when the completed review will be revealed!

***EDIT! Album review is up and can be found HERE. Thanks for the help.***

REVIEW IS UP. Click HERE to see your vocab in action.

i am sorry that i was not able to involve everyone's word choices. initially i was concerned i might not have enough. instead everyone dropped so many words i had more than double what i needed in each category by Saturday.

this seems to have gone well, so if/when we do it again we will likely limit suggestions (1 verb, 1 noun, 2 adjectives... ) per user to ensure we get to user more user's suggestions.
