For Metal as a whole i gotta say black sabbath, because every other band after was pretty much inspired by them. For me personally its gotta be slayer I love there guitar work and the Tom is amazing! They inspired me to start playing guitar

I have to say Sabbath. They were pretty much the first heavy metal band. Yeah those other bands on the list are really influential too, but most of them were influenced by Sabbath themselves, except Led Zeppelin.... Iron Maiden is a close second.

Sabbath, of course.

Metal band is not just one, and the influence depends on the band itself. and are classified as the most important influence in general. black sabbath, iron maiden, judas priest, motorhead, metallica, & many more.

Judas Priest deserves more votes, but I voted Sabbath. Priest is 2, Venom 3.

I voted motorhead because they influenced on metallica,iron maiden .specially with bomber and overkill albums they're awesome .second one could be judas and third one sabbath.

Why doesn't Priest have more votes? They should be second to Sabbath. How could anyone in the right mind say Metallica was more influential than Priest?

I voted for Judas Priest because I believe that while bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath helped set the groundwork for what was to become our beloved metal genre, Judas Priest took it a step further, and made their material throughout the 1970's heavier, faster, and darker.

Led Zeppelin wasn't a metal band. My vote goes to Black Sabbath.

I voted Black Sabbath in regards to their influence on metal and it's sub genres in general.

If I were to choose a band from the list that has been most influential to me, personally, I would choose Slayer.

I'll go with Metallica, maybe Iron Maiden or Judas Priest are the most influential inside the metal world, but Metallica's influence goes beyond Metal and even beyond Rock...
