The 'Tervaskanto' album is a pretty nice listen. Also some of the songs EA suggested. Others worth mentioning could 'Hide Your Riches' and 'Happy Little Boozer'

By the way,"Tervaskanto"is a very good album,indeed.

Then you don't know the meaning of folk, dude... I really like that band, but I'd like to hear more finnish or even sami lyrics, THAT would be "folkish". Equilibrium is a German folk metal band and they sing in German; Finntroll is finnish and they sing in Swedish, the second language in Finland. It just doesn't feel like folk when the band doesn't even use its own tongue to tell the tales of its people. But I agree accordeon and violin give a really folkish sound to their music. In fact, those instruments give to their music a folk atmosphere common to many northern countries, like Canada, Scandinavian countries, Ireland, Scotland, Russia... Korpiklaani don't sound only like Finnish folk, but like Northern folk. Hey, let's create a new subgenre: Northern Metal!

Who can't love Korpiklaani? They're music is awesome.

Korpiklaani! I like them very much. I've just bought Tales along the Road and I think it's really good!
Their best songs are Beer Beer and Wooden Pints.

The new single's title is quite promising!
It reminded me Sonata Arctica's song which I like very much XD and I like Vodka of course! Especially Finnish Vodka So the song must be great!!

I just saw their show as headliners for the N. American Paganfest. Great!! I'd never seen them before. They're such showmen, they really seemed to have fun playing. It's like.. they all seem like NICE guys. You know how most bands try to look angry and bad-ass? Korpiklaani just seemed nice Awesome show!!!

Nah it's not too speedy. Remember I am also a huge thrash fan. As for too happy, I don't care if a song is happy or not. It's just that it all is shallow throwaway music they play, no substance to it at all. Fun to hear when you're drunk at a festival but that's it.

Perhaps its the fact that it climaxes within 10 seconds of the song? Or that its a 5 note riff repeated for 3 minutes? They are just way too fucking repetitive, and this is coming from a Ramones fan.

I agree that musically it's not the richest band (there are many worse!) but I think the most important thing is fun as you said. I like them becasue of the atmosphere they can creat!
They are still one of my top 5 favourite bands!

Heh, they come from the same city where i live. Great band, really. Been listening to them for a couple of years now. My favorite album is maybe "Tervaskanto" and favorite songs are "Cottages And Saunas", "Midsummer Nights", "Tapporauta", "Metsämies", "Tervaskanto", "Viima", ""Spirit Of The Forest", "Palovana", "Tuli Kokko", "Kirki", "Hide Your Riches", "Karhunkaatolaulu" and "Paljon On Koskessa kiviä". Of course, can't say any of their song is bad, but i like these the most. Their new song "Vodka" is pretty awesome too! Looking forward hearing other songs from their upcoming album "Karkelo" as well.

Vodka is a lot better, that song is pretty lame imo.
