This thread is dedicated to the 80's Thrash metal scene, primarily underdog groups. This thread isn't meant to decide who the greatest thrash group was or is. Just to talk about bands you are interested in,what albums you consider to be classics, and so forth.A very unnapreciated group with one of THE greatest thrash albums ever released is Dark Angel,"Darkness Descends" was an instant favorite when I heard the opening riff for the first song. One other group I really enjoy is from the late 80's,went by the name of Evildead, they were among the few that had originality in their music at the time, they weren't just another Thrash group.I have only heard their debut "Annihilation Of Civilization",but "Underworld" is also a classic from what i've heard.Viking,Sacred Reich, Whiplash, and Exciter also kick ass.

80's thrash is the genre I love the most, next is power metal.
This genre is the most agressive one, or the best to reflect the hate and agression, I love that!!!

There's no day I haven't listened at least a thrash song from this era, I use to listen entire albums from the first to the last second, among my favourites are: (no particular order)
Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
Sepultura - Arise (yes, I know its from 1991 but it sounds so 80's)
Sodom - Agent Orange
Sodom - Obsessed by Cruelty
Metallica - Master Of Puppets
Testament - New World Order
Destruction - Eternal Devastation
Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
Transmetal - Dante's Inferno (yes, the same with arise)

Is there anyone into the Canadian Aggression?

I have never heard them before, but I bought 'Full Treatment' from them. I figured I'd rather spend 5 euros on an album, than 2.50 on postage costs. Can't wait to hear them, apparently they are 'underground legends'.

Very good! Will try to check their album out aswell.

2 tech thrash bands I have been listening to lately are Anacrusis and Coroner, well known, but still, recommended.

I usually like thrash that has some other styles mixed in aswell and where sharper sounds don't dominate very much.

I'd reccomend Watchtower if you can tolerate the high-pitched vocals.

Ya, I really enjoy "Energetic Disassembly", sweet technical/Prog thrash, some of the best musicianship in thrash.

Yeah, you're right. But I find strange that Vio-lence hasn't been added into MS band list. It's not even invisible. But everything doesn't have to be added here..

Yeah, but somebody should deal with it. Older bands need more promotion. Metalstorm is still a very good place to find out new bands. Especially for metal listeners, who are new to this kind of style (like me).
