An awesome Melodic Death Doom Metal band delivering some of the finest of Doom Metal since 1994 with two groundbreaking releases Reason and Giving Yourself Away , yet they only have 31 fans here in MS and almost no mention when discussing Doom Metal while other above average bands get all the praise all the time ... Damn

so ... discuss Officium Triste.

I could mention them but it would be a bit awkward since I am on quite a friendly basis with most of the band members.

Good news is they are in the middle of the recording of the follow-up to 2007's Giving Yourself Away. guitars and drums have already been recorded and I think bass and keyboards too, and this coming weekend Pim is going over to Martin's place in Germany to record the vocals.
Also, more good news, they will be recording a split with Ophis soon as well.

Exactly. Especially Pim's clean vocals have improved immensely over the years.

tbh I did not like the cleans in The Pathway but the vocal performance in GYA is a one of a kind especially in "My Charcoal Heart"

Precisely and also check out his vocals on the cover of Killing Joke's Love Like Blood.

You're not the only one in that respect. I even asked him who did the guest vocals on that song

You can tell from the way they grew that they were a quality band that will probably not release a bad album , whereas Katatonia and Anathema started off on a high note and kinda wen downhill , but regarding those two specific bands I like the later albums almost as much as I like the older Doom ones

Vocals are being recorded as I type. But to kill the time here's their cover of Thergothon's Crying Blood And Crimson Snow

The acoustic version of My Charcoal Heart is excellent, it reminds me a lot of guitar classical or flamenco, it is very good, sadly the recording quality is not well.

I came here to let you guys know we have recorded a new cover. This time we did a song originally by the Editors.

Seeing that last post here I wonder what version you listened to of the acoustic version of My Charcoal Heart. Not much wrong with that recording in my opinion.

And here's a demo version of a completely new song, which will be featured on our upcoming album (which will be a completely different recording if I may add).
