Megadeth - Album Release Date Revealed
Megadeth have made it official: their 13th studio album, cleverly titled TH1RT3EN, will be released on November 1st, 2011.
Says singer and guitarist Dave Mustaine: "This record is the culmination of my work over the 13 records I recorded. There are moments on TH1RT3EN that capture my every emotion, and other moments where I am releasing feelings I never knew existed! My proudest moments of my musical career are captured on TH1RT3EN."
TH1RT3EN also marks the recorded return of bassist Dave Ellefson, who was part of the band's classic lineup from 1983 to 2002. This is the first time Ellefson has played on a Megadeth record since 2002's Rude Awakening.
In other news, a countdown has been launched on Megadeth's official website to a mystery announcement that will be made on Wednesday, September 7 at 9:00 a.m. EST / 6:00 a.m. PST.

Written by Guest on 27.08.2011 at 13:14No. If anything should have brought it forward to at least October or September 13th  I'm looking forward to it, as Endgame was a good step in the right direction after United Abominations (but like UA, not quite hitting the mark even if miles better), but it's got a lot of competition from newer bands such as Evile, Warbringer, Machine Head and Mastodon amongst others in my list of anticipated albums. I'm stupidly stoked for Anthrax's new album too, so TH1RT3EN certainly has its work cut out for it to make an impression and have a healthy spin-cycle.

Give me a break. Like you and your band could do any better after decades of thrashing. Sure, sure... album titles and artwork are the most important aspect of what a band does. WTF??!! Megadeth is still relevant, and even after Metallica sold out, musically and to its own fans, Dave is still kicking ass. Don't like the album title? Go drown yourself in a bottle of cheap grain alcohol you twats and let the music speak for itself.

Opinions are just that, and you are of course entitled to yours, but here on Metalstorm we can take a look at the ratings to get a good idea of what consensus says about an album. Thus: Cryptic Writings (7.6) > Load (6.4) Risk (5.5) > St. Anger (4.1) Endgame (8.3) > DM (7.5) Regardless of ratings, my previous point was that we should wait to actually hear the album before knocking it.
