This album is a weird one. It just didn't click with me although there was some cool parts in most songs.

except the vocals... "EEH! OOH! AAH!"

One of my favourite albums of all time, and actually one of the first albums I ever listened to (at the age of 8!). It has stuck in my memory for the last 12 years, and even if that is because of the dark ambience so beautifully incorporated into this album, it still manages to hypnotize and mesmerize as much as Burzum's first couple of albums. 'Tomhet' is a track I would quite happily listen to every minute of the day. Or 14, for that matter.

Boooriiing.......

Not a big fan of the vocals here, but the instrumentation is great.

The initial point is, you gave a boring album an 7. In other words, you gave a "boring" album an "good" rating. I know it's your personal rating and your own taste, but don't you think you're abusing with the Metal Storm voting system? Because an 7 is actually a enjoyable album

Sorry,I redd wrong. In my opinion the album is pretty good,but songs are too long. If you now think about the rating,I don't now what can I give this record. It is ok and boring at the same time. To me 7 is average and 6 is bad. Maybe word "boring" wasn't good for average (or "good") rating. But was this argue worth it? No.

Actually that's how MS albums are rated You can see... Every album has an 8 (very good). I think it's common all this vote abuse all over the website. A 7 album, in my opinion, are those which are quite good but without enough moments to fully listen it again and again, you know, the ones which lacks songwriting originality. You can see a lot of those in my ratings, the so-called "been-here-already-did-it". And I still think my votes are a bit abused, as there's few 6~~5 ratings. And even 6 is not a bad rating in my opinion, maybe a harsh one

But again, it's all about personal taste, right?

MS albums are rated on given slabs. I think ratings everywhere are the SAME. Not strictly to Metal Storm only.

6 for me is totally boring and unproductive album with one or two songs sounding average. So, 6 is considered to be VERY BAD RATING for any record and band shouldn't be happy to see that. 6.5-7 i considered as satisfactory blow out but since you can't rate an album in 0.5, I give a forceful 7 to it.

Below 6 should cut a very sorry figure to band members who's hard efforts are diluted to mediocrity of any particular record.

Some users try not to abuse with the voting system and tends to carefully choose which rating to give to a good album, let's say... between 7~~10.
But the most horrible ratings aren't well chosen. You'll not listen to a shit album twice or more before deciding if it's worth a 3 or a 4. Not the same thing with higher ratings like 8~10.

For me, on my first listen record sounding absolute plain and boring, i don't go on to rate an album immediately. I, just like everyone, gives more spins to see if album has scope to grew on me or not. Sometimes, people just leave that album and comes back later to listen again and see if they have any "good moments" in it. For example, look at staff reviews. I'm darn sure they review the album after listening to more than 4 or 5 times( sometimes 10 or 20 times too!) to share their opinion on what particular record has to say.

Except Lulu, which I strongly feel that after first spin people have loaded up their volvo-bashing trucks to spit venom on it. As far as "higher rating albums" are concerned, procedure is still the same.

Wait, someone even listened fully to the album at least once? I can't stand this one, the only song I've listened from beginning to end was "The View", and only once. I do like the Hetifields screams "I AM THE TABLE!"

To Tell the truth, the only Metallica albums I've listened from beginning to the end were the first three and the Self Titled (black album).

When I was 18 I loved De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, it was my No.1 Black album but now I just gave it a 7. I preferred Hvis Lyset Tar Oss now as it is more conceptual.

Brilliant album, but Varg's voice ruins it. He just sucks at singing. If the album had no vocals, it would be a 10/10.
