I often get the feeling that people don't fully understand Alice Cooper. Since his career has spanned 45 years and 26 albums thus far, it is hard to fully grasp how many genres Alice has covered, how many scenes he has been a part of, and just how much he is willing to experiment musically. Welcome 2 My Nightmare, a sequel to his first solo album, 1975's Welcome To My Nightmare (as you might have guessed), is something of a watershed album for Alice, as it hosts not only a reunion of the original Alice Cooper band but some of his most eccentric works to date.

So i took an interest in this hype. Then I heard the album. I laughed at the hype. I laughed a lot. Because this album is just shockingly embarassing, to even know that the same guy was part of albums as monumental as 'Killer' and 'Billion dollar babies'. But what the fuck happened with 'Welcome 2 my nightmare'? Seriously? It's boring, uninspired, completely devoid of any scare or shock horror, and even Furnier's vocals can't raise this rating up any higher. I may be being harsh (or not at all), but this really is just a mess. It's too damn long as well. Now, some of you will be wondering why my rating isn't below 5. I think three songs (out of the unnecessary 14) are decent, at least. And those are the ones that are below three minutes, and 'I gotta get out of here'. But apart from that, this album takes the piss (Yeah I'm british, get over it). I am seeing Mr. Cooper at bloodstock this year. Let's hope he doesn't praise this album. Loading...
