anyway i find Nirvana extremely overrated, imo Alice in Chains was/is a far better grunge band and much better poster boys of the grunge scene as actual musicians, as opposed to guitar smashing crackheads like Kurt Cobain.

the song itself is nice, quite aggressive and the video is funny, but that's kinda it.

imo it doesn't fit it at all, it's kinda like Tori Amos' version (which i despise) only with Tarja's vocals.

I just listened to it, yeah you are right, but Tori Amos' version is still one of my favorites alongside with Patti Smith's.

Tori's version is miles better than the original. It's not just a cover, it's a reinterpretation from another perspective. Patti Smith's version is also great, but not quite as drastically original.

I may be biased, because I know a secret: that Tori is the greatest musician ever to have lived. She has taken some musical missteps along the years, but her covers have been consistently great, since Montreaux 1991 to Helsinki 2011 (I just saw her, and she played a great version of a really lame U2 song).

I am totally not a Tori Amos fan but I totally agree with you on the fact that her cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit is avstly superior to the original.

Actually, I'm a black metal specialist. I can tremolo pick the fuck out of any guitar, but I am not a master of the other techniques. BTW I have a BM solo project. PM for free downloads if interested. 8-9 guitar tracks from teh Beast, for free!

Well, that goes to opinions... I really liked her cover, brilliant indeed but I still preffer the original any day mostly because of nostalgia and a connection to that song.

Just checked some of her other covers... The Karma Police one is friggin awesome. Although yeah..... I still preffer the original anyway.

Meh, it was very good... but when it ended I immediately put the original one. That song gets so much more power when Yorke is behind the mic.
