Aeternam - New Album Updates

The Moroccan/Canadian melodic death metal band Aeternam announce that the new album's writing process is finished, and they will enter the studio in March 2012 to record it. The band's new album will be recorded in Badass Studio with the engineer/producer Jeff Fortin, who previously worked with Aeternam on their debut album Disciples Of The Unseen.

Their drummer Antoine Guertin stated the following on the band's Facebook page: "The album will contain 9 songs and a short and wicked intro. As far as it goes, there's still a lot of blastbeats and brutal stuff, but the music is way more epic and melodic, really more groovy and let's say... dangerous? Lyrics deal a lot with religions (again) but the focus is more on pre-Islamic rites and actual stuff that is going on right now in the Middle-East. Nevertheless, there's still some new ideas and concepts: we do even have a song that talks about Mayan culture! Crazy stuff!"

The drummer seems to be all over the place when talking about this... That could either mean the new album has a ton of ideas that flow evenly and makes for a really enjoyable listening experience, or it's some poorly constructed "brutal" melodeath album that just leaves you thinking about what could have been.
