Since im not going to bore you with a mass sausage-fest of paragraphs Ill just lay it on the table(t) for you.

-- OP's starting one of those many one man bands again.
-- OP needs to find a keyboard to create atmosphere a la "The Death of Wotan" - Burzum or Summonings Minas Morgul Album.
-- OP has eye'd up what bass he wants, and guitar. And Probably getting Electro-drums even though some will be programmed.

Also a easy to use program to record, add synth effects and programmed drums.

Help would much be appreciated.

For recording program, try Audacity. It's free, it works and it has alot of options.

Audacity is what I use, and I really like it. Yeah, while it may not have "the best" sound quality, it can certainly be useful if what is being recorded is meant to be produced in a lo-fi fashion.
