Definitely Megadeth is the strongest nominee this year.

I hope they'll win!

Yeah, all the nominated songs are probably the "worst" or at least more mainstream songs of their respective albums.

But let Mastodon take it since "The Hunter" is the best album among the other nominee's

Riight, put Mastodon, Sum 41, Megadeth and Foo fighters in the same category. Way to compare apples with apples.

I like "The Hunter" but "Locust" is a MUCH STRONGER METAL album. Mastodon will win though.

Grammys are fucked every year. No new surprises here. Most respectable musicians I've seen interviews with refer to it in some way or another as a big circle-jerk for music industry types.

We're talkin' the grammies. You know, that award show where Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga are advertised on TV for weeks before hand>?

Heh, the grammies... What a joke. Only NU-Metal bands, slipknot, metallica and Dave Mustaine care about their "metal catagory"

I keep thumbs up to Mastodon, but Megadeth's win wouldn't be crime against humanity either.

1989 - Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance

AC/DC - Blow Up Your Video
Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking
Metallica - ...And Justice For All
Iggy Pop - "Cold Metal"
Jethro Tull - Crest of a Knave (WINNER)

organizations/institutions like this evolve over time. even if a band you found deserving won you would probably trash that band for selling out after they get more popular with the crowds you don't like. my assumption is that you like your bands underground so who cares. you little tikes have too many forums and outlets these days to whine. you should go outside and play.

Sum 41 is easily the strongest contender, especially because they've been totally relevant for the past decade and change.

Only two good songs up there, "Public Enemy No. 1" and "Curl Of The Burl". I prefer the latter, so I hope Mastodon wins.

But yeah. Grammy shit is Grammy shit.

Hope Mastodon wins, even though I think Curl Of The Burl is one of the worst songs they've ever made, it's still better than the pile of shit that is Public Enemy No. 1. Locust is a pretty good song too, but I'm not a big Machine Head fan.
