That it'll be a mix of The Desanctification and Sect(s) ? anything better than the second part would be explosive

I guess you're right. Vindsvall always wants to look forward and he has done very well. Not many bands nowadays who plays the same tune like MV I has.

I'm was a full industrial album. Sects covered black and Desantification was a nice middle ground... Now I just want pure and opressive industrial.

"Cosmosophy will be the most atmospheric album of the trilogy. I'm going to include more electronic sounds and new things in the sound of Blut Aus Nord, like a jazzy approach in a few parts. As usual this third chapter will be a different and unique experience."

Hard to know exactly what to make of it but yes, I suspect it'll be the least black metal of the trilogy. And the best.

Looks exactly like the kind of stuff I want to hear... I really want to hear something along the lines of the last 40 seconds of the last song of Desantification. The first time I heard it I got the feeling that it might be a sort of introduction to the last part of the triology... Or so I hope because that was one hell of a cliffhanger when I listened to the album for the first time. I really want to get that album asap and listen to the triology in one sitting.... It'll be beautiful.

I'm 99% certain that when he says jazz he does not mean jazz as in saxophones and strumbolas, probably in the sense of more loose structuring and an improv sensibility. I think any kind of actual jazz sound would wreck the sterile tones of BaN.

Yeah, I know. Adding saxophones would be too weird, even for BaN.

It's exactly the structures and improvisations that turn me off the most in jazz, which is why I'm not too sure what to think about Vindsval's statement.

Well MoRT was practically blackened jazz. I guess if you like that then it could be gravy...

Jazz is very free (in the improv parts as already pointed out) but it's also limited when it comes to scales (I think most traditional Jazz tunes use major scales exclusively but I could be wrong in that) and I don't think a BaN record only using major scales would be a bit of a let down. BaN is and should be about NOISE!

Yep he did use a fretless guitar indeed. Great performance in the whole album. Even the programmed drums were wonderfully spacey and unpredictable.
