Sigh - New Album Details Revealed

Japanese avantgarde black metallers Sigh have announced that the band's ninth album In Somniphobia will be released in March, 2012, through Candlelight Records and have unveiled the album cover. In Somniphobia will be the follow-up to Sigh's last album Scenes From Hell.

The band commented on the upcoming release: "This album is by far more musically varied compared to the last two albums. Put heavy metal, classical music, jazz, Indian traditional music, Stockhausen, and Xenakis into a cauldron of hell and stir it, you'll get In Somniphobia. It is a pure sonic nightmare that lasts more than an hour."

The cover art just just as awesome as Scenes from Hell's. The description sounds like typical Sigh goodness but that promo song just sounds kind of bland for Sigh but then again they will probably do something new with the mixing/production/writing to give it that classic Sigh energy we all know and love.

Really? All their artwork has been fairly standard to me. I really liked the Japanese-looking ones they used to do and the others have all been nice but not out of the ordinary. This one genuinely has a strange style and vibe too it though. They're an odd band so it'll probably fit the music.

Gallhammer is also Japanese and certainly not cool at all

Imo the only reason Sigh gets all the raise is because they are Japanese indeed. Somehow a lot of people equate Japanese with great. Don't ask me why, but they do.
